You GO Frankie! |
What a good boy!!!!! ![]() When our first sheepdog, Quincy, was 9 months old, he hadn't chewed on anything or had an accident in the house for months. We decided to test the waters, and give him the run of the house while we were gone, starting with a short amount of time. The first time, I merely walked for 15 minutes and came home. No problem. I then increased it to 30 minutes. Still good. Then I went to the grocery store for an hour. All good. (Any time we were gone longer than our test time, we still gated him in the kitchen.) After I got up to four hours when he was 10 months old, he had full run from then on. He was such a good boy. Quincy never chewed or bothered ANYTHING in the house. I still miss him dearly.....(sigh)...... Laurie |
We have been incredibly blessed with Archies behaviour ![]() He was only crated over night for the the first two weeks we had him (we got him at 4 months) and was never crated during the day, we had a couple of Litter bin emptyings and one chewed drawer knob - and that has been it. ![]() Maybe my working shifts and being at home a fair bit during the waking hours help, when on Day shift we get up early together and my wife pops in at lunch time. He is given the run of the kitchen utility room and study when we are out, who knows maybe the cats keep him in check ![]() Maybe Sheepies have more important things to do like snooze or chew on nyla bones? |
Not all sheepies. Tiggy had the run of the living area with a dalmo and a siamese to keep her in check. She ate 2 mobile phones, 4 pairs of prescription spectacles ![]() ![]() ![]() |
Good Boy Frankie! Now I ahve the opposite problem. Both of mine LOVE their crate. I can't get them OUT! ![]() |
Frankie used to have the run of the house at night a few months ago, but he started peeing in the kitchen. So back in the crate he went. The only thing that concerns me is, is that he will torment the cat. The cat doesn't get much quiet time. That meaning no Frankie giving him sheepie kisses all over. I'll give it try over the weekend. So if he keeps me up it wont be a big deal. Lisa and Frankie |
