Stage 1 completed, on to stage 2! Plus oes home features?
I've already determined that this breeder thoroughly tests for health issues of many sorts- including eyes, hips, heart, and thyroid. I'm in the process of finding out what the health guaranty includes. The breeder has been around along time, and is very active in the show ring. She is not in my area- so I don't think I'll be able to pick out a pup in person- it'll depend on finances and available time off- both of which will be at a premium if we do end up building via this sweat equity program! I have requested a pup or dog that will be very sweet and gentle mannered, and have mentioned my interest in agility and herding activites- can anyone back me up with more questions to ask? Also- If we end up building in this housing program, I'll have the luxury of being able to add in home features that I want. I'd really like to make the home dog and child friendly/proof (if such a thing is possible!) What do you guys suggest for OES friendly features? Feel free to suggest anything from flooring types to fencing heights! The only thing I've really though of so far is a closet in/near the kitchen with a door to keep the dog out of the trash can.
