Hard road to recovery

This will be short and added to from time to time. I get tired easy)
Had to go back to the hosiptal for the last week, passed out in the car.
I was dehydrated and very little potassium. B/P did not show on the cuff.
It did on the monitor, Richard called 911 so off I went again.
IV and many more pills, and came last evening. I have to walk with a walker. (short times)
Soon a PT will be here to help.

My heart goes out to our member whos SIL died at age 44.
That could have been me.
Thanks to all for your prayers and well wishes.
Deana

Yes-- so glad to hear from you. We were SO worried. Spring is right around the corner, so hopefully some fresh air and sunshine will help your recovery. (((((hugs)))))
Welcome back online, keep drinking!
Deena! I pm you! Welcome Home :clappurple:

Please feel free to pm em anytime...I lived through this type of illness with my Mom not long ago. It was a constant struggle with the Lasekl medication and the potassium getting low and the weakness, etc. It took a while to tweak the meds. I'm sure once the doctors can get just the right dosages for you, things will improve...

Salt intake is a big watch. I ahve some special sites to get sodium free foods. Amazing when you start looking at labels, how much sodium is in everyday food....Just not using salt shakers is not enough. Please feel free to contact me and I will be glad to share what I know...from years of experience.

Glad you are back...get strong...Our prayers are with you...and some sheepie licks and hugs...
Diane
Welcome back Deanna--glad you are on the mend. Take care of yourself.
Welcome back. Keep working on getting better, Richard and the pups really need you!! My sheepdog Jack says eat a half of banana a day......and share the other half with him.
I'm glad you are better.

My mother has been to the hospital twice for dehydration in the past two years. Even worse is the fact that she is a retired nurse - so she knew better.
We worked out a schedule for her to follow (about 5 ounces of liquid an hour, for 12 hours every day). Basically, she has 4 hours in which take 20 ounces of liquid. And she is taking 3 servings of potassium rich foods a day. So far, so good.
It was good to hear from you Deana, I wish it had been better news. Like the others said, tweeking the meds and Spring around the corner I hope will send your health in a better direction. Take care of yourself and let us know how you are doing.
So glad to hear from you! Take your time recuperating - it may take a while, don't get frustrated.
It's great to hear from you! I've been thinking of you & Richard. Hope the docs can sort your meds out. All our fingers and paws are crossed for you.

Take Care!!!! x
It is good to "hear" from you. Work hard with PT, and the rest will come back as you feel better.
My mother has to monitor her water intake so she makes up her daily water in little glass Snaffle bottles. Being an old nurse she carefully sanitizes the bottles and caps, adds the water and places most in the refrigerator the rest on the counter. She makes her coffee or soup from the counter bottles and the drinking water from the frig. By the end of the day she can see how she's done by the empty bottles.

The only extra liquid she allows herself is milk on her morning cereal and the three fingers of gin at night before bed. She's 93 so to heck with the gin.

  She is very amusing.
Deana--I'm glad you're starting to feel better. Please take it easy!
Deana, good to hear from you. Please please don't let yourself get dehydrated. Follow the doctor's orders and keep liquidating! Check in from time to time but don't overtax yourself.

Most importantly, take care of yourself and Richard and the 3 fuzzbutts.
Deana, you are missed! We want you back here as previous, after you are fully recovered so you take care of yourself okay!
(that was said in my firm voice)

Now my softer voice - It's hard recovering from such a serious illness as yours..soon the flowers will be blooming, sun out, and you will take your time , follow all of Richards and your doctor's instruction, and above all take it easy. We'll all be right here waiting for you.
