Poor Heart

~~~~She is sooo clueless at times.....
I went downstairs to get the laundry. Of course, I was preoccupied so I came upstairs and began putting everything away. In the kitchen, while getting my coffee, I heard a small whine. Then another one..and another. I looked around and Coz and Pearl were sitting there watching me. I called Heart...no response. I looked in the bedroom, the front room then (((duh)) it dawned on me to open the basement door~~~NO HEART :hearts: ~~~..Thinking something may have happened, I turned on the basement light and proceeded to go down the steps...NO HEART :hearts: ~~ I went into the dark back room and lo and behold~~~~ There she was just standing there....in the dark....of course when she saw me, she jumped up and squeaked!
Poor Heart was lost in her own house... onceAGAIN!!!!!!!!!!....... :oops: :oops: :roll: :oops:
:lol: :lol: :lol: :lol: :lol: Been there, done that! I've had to tell mine they need to SPEAK UP! These sissy whines can go unnoticed on their "old" :lol: owner!
:lol: :lol: :lol: :lol: :lol: :lol:
Why she persist in exploring in dark rooms and then panicking is beyond me. She wanders off into the dark basement at my house too. :roll:
Next time leave the basement door open and see how long it takes her to wander back. :wink:
I lost Liz in the basement just the other day. She had no problem speaking up. It just took me a while to figure out where the barking was coming from 8O :roll: :lol: :lol:
Kristine
OK - here's a plus for having an uninhabitable basement!!! :D :D
No sheepdogs lost in my house :wink:
awwww poor heart! maybe she just panics and cant move...the basement of the house i grew up in had me feeling like that....maybe keep a night light on in the darkest of the rooms...
Ahhhh Heart.......it's a good thing your cute :-)
Poor Heart. Being lost in a dark scary place is no fun.
We lost Rudy for about ten minutes the other day. He doesn't make a sound. He was just in the main floor bathroom. He pushed the door open and it closed behind him. There's no window, so it was pitch dark.
It appears he just gave up, laid down, and hoped death would take him gently. He seems to have no problem solving skills at all.
We called and called and called for him. Nope. Not a peep. But when he was rescued he jumped and wagged his bum so hard he couldn't land on his feet and toppled over. Pure joy. "I'm saved. I'm saved. I'M SAVED!!!!!"
Hudson says Rudy has absolutely no dignity.
Tiggy is very unvocal when she wants something too.
She just stands and looks sad in the hope someone will figure out what she wants and provide it.
Rastus the dalmo on the other hand barks, woofs, sooks, whines and makes funny whistling type whines in the back of his throat till he drives us crazy.
OMG - Tiggy and Martha must be clones...she does exactly the same.
Simon the basset is more like Rastus - the whining until he gets a response is unreal.....
Chewie falls somewhere in the middle, thank goodness!
Well..(I guess) it's comforting to me to know that she is more 'normal' than BIMBO~~~ :roll: :roll: :roll: :oops: :oops: :oops: :D :D :D
I hope you whispered that! Tiggy, Martha and Heart will get offended if they hear you calling them 'normal'.
I have always kinda liked that Tiggy is more laid back and less demanding than Rastus. Some days he thinks I'm the doorman at a five star hotel and bashes at the door to go in and out every 10 mins till I crack it and make him go in his outdoor kennel.
Its relaxing to have Tiggy who pretty much just takes life how it comes. Except for the potty training bit, it wasnt so great there! As she just went whenever for a while. Wayne never noticed her standing and looking sad at the back door so he never let her out. Hence she decided behind the couch he usually sits in was a good enough potty spot. :evil:
I remember a time when Wendel was being very naughty. He was in a really grumpy mood and was pushing Asterisk around. So we decided he needed a time out in the basement. We put him in the basement and wandered back to our front room.
Normally, Wendel would spend about 10 minutes downstairs and then nose his way through the door and sit down in the front room with us. 20 minutes pass and Asterisk starts to whine and pace. She's walking to the basement door and back to the front.
We realize that Wendel hadn't come up. We go to the basement door and he locked himself downstairs. No lie! There is a button on the basement door that locks it from that side. He must have reared up to get out and pressed the button.
Josh and I panic because the house was his mothers that we inherited and she had over 50 keys for the house. Needless to say, we just forced the door open.... to find Wendel sleeping at the foot of the stairs.
He yawned, stretched and walked past us.
:lol: :lol: :lol: :lol: ..leave it to a sheepdog!!! They are too clever for their own good!! He probably did it on purpose to teach YOU a lesson..... :lol: :lol: :lol:
Ah Heart you are funny. She is not clueless just does not pay attention at times.
How did you make her whine when she had to go potty then? My boy just stares at the door or sits next to the door. But it doesn't help when we're not in the room to notice him. How do I make him whine? He's one year old now.
Until Mim responds....
have you tried to teach him to ring bells??? It's working great for my daughter who has an AM Bull Dog. Domino is about 7 months old and she goes to the back door when she needs to go out and noses the 'christmas bells' she has hanging on the doorknob... :D
Thank you Val. I'll try that out.
Hmmmm, still smarting about the Bimbo comment are we? :lol: :lol: :lol:
Well you know it is true. For a very intelligent dog she is certainly doesn't act it when she is around her boyfriend.
She is like "Ohhh Harry, you are sooooooooooooo smart" :roll: :roll: :roll: :P
And for those of you who have never been seen these two playing......
Harry's response would be::::...................
""Yeh, Heart,I know it you think I am the greatest...and I AM!!!!!!! Stick with me kid~~I can teach you things that will make your mom's head hurt~~ and I'll show you the right way to handle your human~~
Oh... and one more thing, cutie~~~~just so you know.....when there are other girlies around, I will ignore you and play with the new ones, since I know you will always be around for me to ABUSE!!!!! :twisted: :twisted: :twisted:
A picture is worth a 1000 words!!!!!!
And "we're" concerned about HEART not appearing SMART? :roll: :lol: :lol: :lol: :lol: :lol:
Kristine
^^^^^^^^^^^^
That is precisely WHY we are concerned! Who would love a boy like that Kristine? :oops:
Val doesn't like me calling her a bimbo but she throws all intelligence out the window when it comes to him. :evil:
It is like the girl wanting to date the dumb frat boy instead of the quiet dignified scholar.
You know any dignified MALE OES scholarly types???? 8O :lol: :lol: :lol:
Girls just wanna have fun. Harry's a party animal. What's not to love? :wink:
Kristine
Those neck scarfs are so cool. How did you get their names on them?
Harry's mom just phoned me to tell me that this thread has taken a turn ..not sure which way though.... :roll: :roll:
Laurel...I just LOVE your comic!!! That is just too funny for words!!!
Kristine...There ARE very dignified OES's out there...Chewy, Matisse, ummmmm Guiness!!!....ohmy...Any number of male OES's that Heart has met at Sheepiepalooza...And when they come up to her to say hi...you know what she does????????????...........the snappy turtle thingy and they run away....Harry??? For some reason he LOVES her snappy turtle thingy...I think he gets excited trying to avoid her teeth!!!!
We...the parents have thought about renaming them, after all 3 and 4 are not that old for name changes...Here are the choices so far.........
Julie and Billy from Carousel
Maria and Tony from West Side Story...
OR
Sandra and Jessie!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Please vote only once as you will confuse us humans!!!!! :wink:
OK, Chewie, I'll give you - on a good day. Matisse maybe. But Guinnees? Cindy's Guinness???? The bucking bronco from the '06 rescue parade??????????? :cow: I'M even confused now. Small wonder she hides in the basement and runs with rogues!!!
She does the snapping turtle thing? Aw, too cute :aww: Mad does that too. And then she grins and is oh, so pleased with herself :roll:
She only likes Border Collie boys. Strictly blue collar, working kind of dudes. Yeah, well, I know, there's no accounting for taste. :wink:
That's what I did.
Sometimes if I'm up the other end of the house I hear her ringing the hell out of it until Wayne surfaces from where ever he is in laptop land and gets up to let her out. SHEESH, he's just lucky she'll ring and ring rather than potty behind his couch.
this is my favortie photo of them!!!!!!!
Funny. Sunday we had something also happen. We were on the deck (sun for once). when Kirby was missing. I thought the gate was open, but no. We called and called. Went in the house - no Kirby. As we walked around we found him - stuck under the deck. His out, his body in. He was looking for lost toys. But, he did not make any noise as we called and called - he just silently waited for us to rescue him. Sometimes he would be nice if his was not so silent.
He was just fine, but did need a bath.
poor Kirby!!!! Maybe him and Heart are related?????? :D :D :D
Vidhya29~~We had the bandanas and the slobber towels made for Sheepiepalooza 2009. Some of the club members had the option of getting the names embroidered (prob. msp..sorry :oops: )
They all looked so cute!!!!
