Made the call

Hello everyone. It is me again. It was just this past June that I leaned on you for comfort as we had to put our blessed Abigail down as she became too feeble at the age of 12 1/2. I sat here and cried as I read your responses and took great comfort in knowing that you all understand the affection we have for our OES's.

Well...Abby's brother, Belvedere is now also in a very feeble state and requires us to help him get up so he can stumble outside to do his business. he often falls and we know it is time. We always said that the truest sign with him would be when he no longer had interest in his toys, even those he would often play with laying down. He now looks at us and we know we are at that moment. I have made the call today to have the vet come to our house this Wednesday to help Belvedere cross over the bridge to be at peace with his sister.

We are have been his proud parent for over 13 years and it pains us to say this final goodbye. Please pray for us and keep us again in your thoughts especially this Wednesday at 4:00PM. We will miss hi soo much and will feel a great void since he and his sister have been our only children in our 18+ years of marriage.

Thank you for being there and understanding.

hugs to you and your family it never gets easy
Hugs to you and your family on making this difficult decision.

Cherish every moment you have with him between now and Wednesday, spoil him rotten, try not to dwell on what is going to happen on Wednesday, but instead celebrate the joy he has given you these past 13 years.

Take comfort in knowing that you are doing the most selfless thing you can for your boy, you are ending his suffering.

Brenda

I'm so, so sorry for what you are going through.
:ghug: :ghug:
I have loads of sympathy. Enjoy, savor, cherish, and take comfort in knowing you are doing what is best for him.
Just trust in your instincts , you know you are doing the right thing even though your heart is breaking. I am so sorry you are going through this but at least he will be surrounded by love when he goes over the Bridge to join his sister. Will be thinking of you in the next few days, come back and talk to us we will be here for you. Hugs xxxxx
I'm so sorry you are going through this. Thank you for being strong for Belvedere and please lean on us again to help you through this.

Please reread this heartfelt post. I think it needs repeating.

You are the one he looks to for his safety and comfort especially now, and you will be there for him. This IS the most selfless, most important act of love when he most needs it. We DO know what you are going through, We ARE here for you.

Find comfort in the fact that his sister is waiting at the bridge for him, as all the other sheepies are. You will have 2 stars shining down on you and they will always be in your heart.

:ghug: :ghug: and prayers to you and your family.
Just because it's the unselfish thing to do doesn't make it easier :( That you love him enough not to let him suffer speaks volumes about how loved he is. He will be with you always :ghug:
There is never enough time to spend w/our sweet sheepies. My heart goes out to you and your family now and especially on Wednesday. :ghug:
How devastating for you all.
My deepest sympathy it is such a hard thing to do the right thing by our beloved furkids.
Thinking of you all at this most difficult of times. :ghug: :ghug: :ghug:
I am so sorry it's time to make that most unselfish decision of all. Belvedere knows how much you love him.
We have all been there and know how sad you feel. I'm sure as time passes all good memories will make you smile again.

Bless you for thinking of your Belvedere first, and not how much you want to keep him here with you. It truly is the hardest decision ever, it hurts like hell and will for awhile, but take comfort in the fact that you are doing what is best for him. He has been a faithful, loving companion all these years and he will stay in your heart and memories forever. Thoughts and prayers are being sent to comfort you in your time of grief.
When they have lost their interests and their dignity, it is time. It is so very, very hard. My condolences.
Special thoughts and prayers for Belvedere and your family. :ghug: :ghug:
:ghug: Never easy but know we all send our heartfelt love at this time.
Thank you for loving Belvedere so selflessly.
Thinking of you at this sad time. :ghug: :ghug:
It is indeed a sorryful time but you are doing the best for him. We are very sad for your loss.
Thank you all so much for your hugs and thoughts and prayers. You all understand and it is comforting to read your replies and comments. It is a very tough day today. I know someday we will heal but it is hard to look past the void that we will feel and am starting to feel. Thank you all again.
I am so sorry , you are giving him the last act of love. It is so hard to say good bye. My thoughts are with you.
I am so sorry. My heart aches for you.
Sorry to hear of this. Hugs from Florida
Just wanted to thank you all so much for support, prayers and kind words. It is still a very difficult time. Belvy went peacefully and in the loving arms of his mama. The silence of the house is an eerie sound that we have not experienced in over 13 years and every thing we are seeing reminds us of him and his sister. I know time will help in the healing, but sorrow and sadness and words such as that just don't seem to properly sum up a time like this.

Thanks again to all of you...
:ghug: :ghug: :ghug:
We are all here for you. again, I am so sorry.

Bless your baby and the memories are there forever of all that he has been over the years. Never easy but a last act of love we do for our furry babies.

Time heals a bit but they do leave us with a legacy of years of love and fun and are always in our hearts forever. I always say forever our guardian angels watching over us.
