Excited?? Nah, not me.

I just got the email to say that Tiggy and I have made it to the top of the waiting list (nearly 12 month wait) and we have been accepted into the Agility Dogs of Victoria Club to start a beginners class. First class is handlers only, without any dogs, starts in two weeks. Woo Hoo

I am sooo excited for both of you!!!!! :D :D
Not excited at all, are you? I bet you'll both have the time of your lives. It's so much fun watching them have fun...like kids on a playground! Lots of mental work tho' for the handlers! Let us know how it goes! :clappurple: :clappurple:
Yay!!!! :clappurple: :clappurple:

I am so happy for you :D

As the saying goes - good things come to those who wait! Even those who wait a really LONG time
Congrats to you and Tiggy!

Is there only the one place around you? Why the long wait?
There arent many "good" places. In fact there arent really all that many places full stop but some just teach the equipment and not all that well. No "how to teach contacts" and none of the important stuff in terms of crosses etc. ie how to get from obstacle to obstacle in an efficient manner.

In just the last 3 or 4 years agility has become much more popular here and demand has outstripped supply especially in terms of good instructors.

So I waited in order to get better instructors rather than learn bad habits. And besides Tiggy benefitted from the extra time at obedience and she has even started to grow a brain at the ripe old age of 2 years. :D
I applaud your patience and approach :clappurple: :clappurple: :clappurple: :clappurple: Having started the wrong way I know how important it is to have a solid foundation - especially for the handler

We have the same situation here in NY and I assume elsewhere in the States. Too many people with no real solid foundatin buy a few pieces of equipment and set themselves up to teach agility. SO very many people end up paying for it in additional classes or by eating fees when they aren't properly trained.

Off my soapbax now

You and Tiggy will have a greta time - always have a notebook with you - it heps to take notes!!

oh and wonderful use of emoticons!!!!! :bulb: (I think you missed using that one) :P :P
Good for you for waiting!

Simon is going to start with his "THIRD" trainer this week. Thats if I can go...Sciatica and running don't go well together. I will make that decision after CGC class tomorrow.
Kerry thanks for the tip re the notebook, good idea.

Simon's Mom I hope your sciatica settles fast, :crossed: definitely not fun for running.
