Pink dog?

Rosco is 11.5 and is pink! He had a bath about 2 weeks ago and was very white, now pink. Is this something older dogs get and why? Luke was 12 and stayed white , Beau and Daisy were 8 when they died so I don't know if they would have gotten pink or not.

Is it just parts that are pink????

Pearl is 14 and she licks her front legs...Pearl gets bathed about once a month......

I would like to know if these stains can be removed????
With Rosco it's almost all his whites. Suggestions I've seen: club soda, peroxide, and milk of magnesia. It's just odd that he is white after a bath but it doesn't last long.
I have a white, long-haired cat. He always had these pinkish/brown stains on the left side of his nose. My vet told me that animals such as dogs and cats have a higher iron content then humans do. Thats why tear stains on lighter animals are rusty colored. Darker animals have the same iron deposits, but since their fur/skin/hair is darker, it's not noticeable.

Wendel has really dark rusty colored pad fur, not from dirt or mud. I don't really know what can be done to lighten the appearance.
I've heard of it happening - and not with an older dog. The dog was shaved and grew back in white.
Could it be sunburn? Darker dogs take on a reddish cast to the hair, maybe white goes down to a sublayer??
I would think maybe the hair is just more porous with age so it's absorbing more dust and stain? Maybe try a leave in conditioner to seal the cuticle and supplement with the spray conditioners. He's not showing so a little softness won't hurt!
Since it seems to be everywhere, it could be a yeast infection, might be time for a vet visit.
Agree with Maxmm just get a check first to see nothing at skin level.

They do get a bit more sensitive with age and and would not be trying peroxide, milk of magnesia etc. Firstly just have a check to make sure no problems at skin level.

Secondly E-Z groom crystal whitening shampoo is wonderfull keeps them white longer and gentle on them also, has enzymes in it when mixed with warm to hotish water activates the enzymes, shampooed in and left on the whites for 8 minutes to activate then rinsed off works wonders. Not anything nasty in it either so wont interfere with his skin or hair like other whitening stuff can do and wont dry the hair out either making it brittle like other stuff can do also.

Will take about 3 white washes in it to help Mr. Pinkys whites stay white longer if no underlying problem of his skin. Also there skin does age, some go dry and flakey some quite oily so maybe just a bit oily and hence not staying so white for longer now and showing up in the whites as the greys you probably would not notice any difference. I even noticed on my oldies even brushing them have to be a bit more gentle as the skin is a lot more tender and if a knot and you pull too hard they can bleed or the skin gets red & irritated easier.

Post a picture so we can see how the whites are at the moment with the pinkish tinge.
