Sybil's "baby"

Let me pre-face this by saying I've been knee deep in club business of late and my dogs are bored and have cause to sue for neglect. So I've been cutting them some slack for their weird behavior.

Last night I walked into my bedroom and Dazz was upside down on the bed wrestling (quietly - be still my heart!) with Sybil. When she saw me she stopped, jumped up and leaped off the bed with a "busted" sign stamped on her forehead. Which was weird in and of itself, except that she's the only dog I have who doesn't think the bed belongs to HER!  They're all permitted to sleep on it. I just prefer they make space for me TOO. A consideration only Dazz seems to make, but never mind  :P

Anyway, Sybil...she's been acting a little weird and may be experiencing a false pregnancy. This morning I woke up at 4:30 as I'm wont to do (No! Not by design!) I got up, forgot to turn off my alarm, which was set for 5 am. At five I hear it go of, it's one of those annoyingly persistent beeping ones, I walk into the bedroom to shut it off and Sybil is standing on my bed (of course, where else? ) whining and pawing at it, looking to me to do something about it. I turned it off and she finally relaxed.

She's never done that before. All I can think is that her hormones were telling her it was a puppy vocalizing distress.

Anyway, since Kerry has first pick on any Sybil puppy, what color alarm clock do you want?

Poor bitch. Sybil, I mean. Not Kerry :sidestep:

I'll go ahead and beat Kerry to the punch this time...

Poor Sybil!
LOL

Poor Sybil. :cow:
It must be family antics week, because I just came on here to post one w/ Chewie and Maggie and their latest.
Yep Poor Sybil :(

Any chance she just realizes that 5 am is not a civilized time to awaken? Her (distant) cousin Miss Marley will not come downstairs (willingly) until closer to 6. SHe then will go outside (after checking the window to make sure it isn't raining).

In case you are right - I am partial to bright green ;)

Reminds me: I meant to mention I don't recall breeding a dog with green things sticking off the top of his head...?

Kristine
The fact that she wanted to know what you "were going to do about it" doesn't say much for her mothering skills with this litter. Didn't she do better with her offspring when the sire was a sock?

With that in mind, I will pass on this litter and wait for the next one. I would like a blue sock with a lint eye patch.

God, I wish mine would be this civilized!!! They feel 4:30 is a fine and dandy time to get up! Of course, fine for them. By the time I leave for work they've already settled in for their morning NAP!

Is it considered weird to be jealous of your dogs? :cow:

I will keep your color preferences in mind. The first born is a metalic one sort of in the green family. Perhaps somehow related to its uncle's green antenna? :cow:

Kristine
Those shamrocks are darn cute!!!!

Chewie is happy to sleep until 6. It's puppy Biscuit and Simon that are the early birds who want up early - and the earlier the better! I don't dare tell them 4:30 works at your house.

We just got Biscuit to sleep past 5 - barely.......and Simon starts whining as soon as he thinks I've started to rouse. :(

The thought did cross my mind. Of course, when her litter was about 30 hours old her dam decided she'd had enough and settled down in the middle of a tunnel in the dog yard for a two hour nap leaving me to deal with the little buggers in the mean time, so Sybil probably comes by it honestly

And, yes, she did seem to do better with her sock litter. Your color and lint eye patch preference is noted
And when the is the laundry due? Or has she lost her ticket?

Sorry about the falsie, as for the alarm clock......so you wanted her to actually try to turn it off or nurse it? I'm with her, turn it off, kill it, whatever, I want to go back to sleep.

It's 5:30 a.m. here for everyone but Mom. Mom waits for the sun.
Dont you just love the False I'm preggo and nesting. 8)

My peppa had it bad after heats, upstairs in front of the open fire was a shaggy rug, at that time after her heat she would sramble upstairs, scratch at the rug and make a big pouch in the middle of it and her favourite baby was a stuffed Bert from Sesame street, bright vibrant fluro green and yellow she would steal off sons bed at that time. Place bert in the middle of the scrunched up rug and if anyone tried to alter the giant nest in the lounge room she would be back up there re-arranging it to her liking with Bert dumped in the middle of it.

We laughed and left it as it was with her re-decorating at that time, when visitors entered at the front door and looked at the giant fuzzy wuzzy birds nest in the lounge with bert plonked in the middle 8O you could see the what the !!!! look on their faces, we use to just say peppa is nesting it will pass the re-decorating and fancy fuzzy birds nest in front of the open fire will be back to normal eventually when her phantom is over  Try to alter it was not worth the trouble she would stress out if anyone touched her giant fuzzy wuzzie birds nest with her vibrant baby in the middle of it. Have to thank son too only time she was interested in bert he got it back when that phase was over and the birds nest went flat for awhile in front of the open fire place till it started up again!!!.
I can send Sybil a real puppy to mother in return for a new clock. My bedroom alarm has been acting funny lately!

Ohh - I'll send you my clock for a puppy!

Mine is a CD player as well and the alarm works perfectly (as does the snooze button!)
I will even include a new battery for the backup when the power goes off w/ all these spring and summer storms!!! Deal??
shoot - I never even use my alarm clock - I can have it to you by dinner time ;)
heck, i'll up the ante, how bout a stereo system alarm clock???
Awww......my dogs love to sleep in!!

They have actually destroyed a few alarm clocks
so we didn't have to get up!

Of course it wasn't the beeping for Finn it was the
LED lighting.

Puppy for an alarm clock??? :lmt:
Good deal but, I need a few more years to
recover here!
Chauncey and I do NOT do mornings well 8). He will sleep in until I get up, then will go out for a quick pee, crawl up on the couch, root the pillows in the right position and take a nap. The two commands that he always obeys.....let's take a nap, and when Bobby asks it he wants to go to bed & watch TV. He's on the bed waiting on you
