Crock Pot BBQ Chicken Recipe

This is one of my quickest recipes, and my husband loves it to death! He can't believe how good it tastes. My pictures taking is getting worse, but I just don't have the patience anymore with 4 people who always can't wait to eat. I make this ALL the time esp. if I don't have time to prepare something.

3 chicken breasts (FROZEN OR THAWED)
1 bottle bbq sauce (don't use kraft ...ALWAYS is terrible in cooking recipes)
1/2C Italian salad dressing
1/4C brown sugar
2T Worcestershire

Place it all in the crockpot and cook on low for 4-5 hours, take out and shred and then cook for 1 hr (this is when all the liquid will be absorbed so don't worry if it's thin at first)

Note: Chicken IS one of those recipes that you can overcook in the crockpot. With my crockpot, I cook without opening or stirring for 4hrs (5hrs if frozen), and 30-60 min more after it's shredded. After that, it'll start overcooking in mine, so WATCH your chicken. Liquid absorbed and sides are turning dark = done ...take out and just microwave extras.

Mr. J likes it plain. I love mine with ranch on top!

The other crock pot chicken sandwich recipe I like making:

This looks/sounds reallllyyyy good. I will definatly give it a try. Thank u so much for postin.
That's funny that you mentioned overcooking the chicken. I was just going to ask about that--since I work away from home all day, I have to either turn on the crock pot before I leave and have it on for 9 hours, or try to run home at lunch to do it (which isn't all that close and a pain to do).

It's so frustrating b/c so many of the good sounding recipes are for like 4-5 hours of cooking, or you're supposed to cook for a certain time, then reduce the heat after a while, which I can't do if I'm working!
If you just cook the breasts in chicken broth, come home, drain/shred, then add the bbq sauce for an hour... I bet that would work too. Just a suggestion to try.
Do you use boneless skinless chicken, or bone in with skin?
always boneless, skinless :)

You mean like cook the chicken briefly, like 20 minutes on the stove? Or cook them all day in the chicken broth in the crockpot and then drain, shred, etc...
the cook all day on low in the crockpot. i bet it would work just the same.
Jo- did you find your camera???
Yes, it was exactly where I left it.

I put it in the stroller to take a pic of a new gift the boys got outside. It somehow fell into a pocket in the stroller. We both checked the stroller inside and out a GAZILLION times. then we went to baseball practice, it was just "there." You have no idea how many HOURS I spent looking for this stupid thing. I was hoping it would disappear so I could just get a new one. ;)
I use all the same stuff for meatballs in the crock pot too... I love the Lady Diana bbq sauces for crock pot stuff.
Just had this tonight and it was very good :)
