How many pounds are you trying to lose?

Trying to track progress.

I'm trying to lose 12. 17 if Mr. J is still planning to drag me to the beach this summer.
Respond to this topic here on forum.oes.org
I'm not trying, I'm going to do it. (that's my rah-rah speech for today). 30 pounds is my ultimate goal. Right now my mini goal is 10 pounds by April 18.
oooh, great approach. That's what I'm going to tell myself every day now. More like every time I touch the fridge.
20 lbs by the time it's too warm to hide in bulky sweaters lol
I don't usually think in terms of pounds, but Id like to get into a size 14 jeans by summer (currently 18 :( ) I think for me, that's probably about 20LBS :? I always lose about 10 LBs in the spring without really trying, so I figure only 10 need to be on purpose!
Last year I lost 30 pounds, and sadly I have gained almost 20 back
So, my goal is to get back to the point I was for sure, and tack on another 5 to that just to prove I can!
All of them

This morning the Wii balance board had some sort of malfunction and said I weighed -3 pounds. Your Mii gets very tall and skinny when that happens :D :D

Can you mail that board to me??? :D

Sadly, that isn't happening here....

OK, time to get dressed (I even brought Simon to the vet at 8am for his dental appt. in my PJ's  ), and get out for that walk!
Hmm, I wonder how many calories are lost bathing dogs? I have one done!
Not saying here either but do you happen to know how much is used in grooming 2 full coated OES :?:
Actually I have no excuse. I have a great treadmill placed directly in front of the big screen TV & it even has
FANS that blow cool air on me!
I have lost 5 and want to lose 10 more--
I am so good at dieting until I sit down to eat--
So I am really trying to eat small 5 times a day--that is really hard for me. I would rather eat one good meal --but when I do that I snack too much at night.
My worst time is between dinner and bedtime--I want to snack and have to really fight that as it is the worst time to eat!
This time last year I was in a size 8. I have gained 40 lbs in the last year. Since I started Nutrisystems I have lost 10 lbs and have 30 more to go. You work so hard to take it off, and say you will never let yourself gain it back again. It's just a vicious circle.

^^

HAHA... that's what I say every time I get pregnant. I gain 50, work hard as hell to lose it, and the month I do ...each time I'm pregnant again. Mr. J says "you don't wear any sexy clothes anymore.." I tell him well heck, when is the last time I've been in a size I could?! ;)
Yeah I know. We might be going to Florida at the end of April. I would love to be able to put on a bathing suit and not be embarrased.
This is no joke. When we picked Frankie up at the vet a couple of weeks ago, He aked when we were expecting our little bundle of joy. That was my big motivator. His wife works with him and she just about beat him. I chuckled, I was fuming, but would never have shown it.

This is me exactly. Doesn't matter if I'm not hungry. I'll still eat between dinner and bedtime.
My worst time is between work & dinnertime. Mostly because at this time of year I get home so much earlier. Evenings aren't bad because I am always busy with the dogs either training or grooming.

that's what i was going to say! I'm 40 pounds over weight, and alot of it is to do with other health issues. I'd be THRILLED if I could lose 10 before my surgery.

I had my Wii keep track of my weight loss it was so awesome to watch the animation of my Wii losing the weight! yippee! I lost 30 lbs.
So I was jokingly praying for the stomach flu BEFORE I actually got it. 4 days of it now has me down to 7lbs to goal weight, 12lbs before I wear a bathing suit in public. I'm taking a medication where I can tell it's caused me to gain a little, so this has been harder than I thought, but this little boost put me on the right track. I'm getting determined now for summer. woohoo!
way to look at the flu with a silver lining
I'd lost 10 pounds before vacation and thought I did pretty good while I was gone last week....but I gained FIVE back. I'm frustrated as all get out.
I've done very well on Nutrisystems. 15 lbs in a month and a half. My husbands on it also. We both had a major cheat day yesterday all day. Drinks pizza for dinner I had chinese for lunch. Not good on the scale or on the tummy. But today, back to the diet. I have 15 lbs to go. I'm sure it won't come off as easy as the first did.

Congratulations to everyone who has had success.

Lisa
No one keeps reporting in with an update!

My plan this week is to lose 2 more lbs.
I bought "the bathing suit" this morning *biting nails*, so that has to be my extra motivation to get fit. Hard time deciding since I'm not 100% it will cover the c-section scar.
I need to lose..............ALOT!!!  :( :( :( Being older, I find it is harder to lose..... 8O 8O

BUT....in our (Dino and me) goal to achieve hard bodies, or least, bodies that don't wiggle TOO much,,,,,,HE has done the following:::::

A little background~~~ Our youngest daughter bought a house and of course needed a couch and loveseat. So my very generous hubby gave her ours!!! We began looking for replacements and just couldn't agree! Then Dino said to me.."""I know what I am going to do!!" (me).."WHAT"...(him)..."You'll see!!" (fingernail biting emoticon!!)

I had something to do and when I came home, our front room, the "living room" was transformed into a gym!!! The treadmill, ab lounger and spinning bike.....(along with our piano on the side wall...what the???????..)   :tea: :headbang: :headbang: :headbang:

I maintained my temper, since he looked sooo proud of himself and smiled as he was telling his plan of getting a small TV, or, opening the blinds to the picture window...(so, what???? so...everyone can stand outside our house and 'watch' me sweating and huffing and puffing??????))

Now, this happened about a month or so ago, we I still have not done anything...well, no TV yet...

So if you come to visit, we have a very wierd entry room..I feel like hanging Rocky pictures up as incentive!!!!!!

will keep everyone posted......maybe......  :cow: :cow:

Wow, that must be a skimpy bikini to not cover the c section scar (or did you have an up and down one?). My scar is SO low that I'd have to be pretty obscene to let it show

Sorta sounds like my house. Like the time (years ago I used to do seeing alterations for customers out of my house & had a nice area with all my sewing supplies in a big closet & also on pegs in pegbopard walls, for easy access) when I went back to work (part-time) outside the home & came home to ALL my sewing stuff removed & placed in cardboard boxes (no organization to it) and the sight of 55 BASEBALL CAPS hanging on all those pegs!!!!!!!!!!!!! I won't even go into his reasoning for doing so....

Anyway, after Christmas this year, I came home to the curved part of the sectional in the family room removed to the other side of the room & the treadmill in it's place. His reasoning for this is maybe we'll use it if we can watch TV on the big screen TV. At least it is in the back of my house & all that will see me huffing & puffing is any stray wildlife that ventures near. The one who is REALLY put out is Mariah! She always came barreling into the family room & banked off the curved section! Her reverse gear worked pretty darn fast the first time for an old girl!
Mine is very low but I wouldn't call it obscenely low. I can sometimes see the top end of the incision when I raise my hands or move a certain way in some of my underwear (which are all super low rise ...as are all my pants).

I got this: http://www2.victoriassecret.com/commerc ... rfnbr=7121

with this coverup: http://www2.victoriassecret.com/commerc ... rfnbr=1339

...and I'm about to buy one more tankini at athleta ...just still trying to decide on the bottom.

sheepiesake, hey... at least he wants to get fit with ya! I have pictures of what I'd like to look like in the bathroom. They're not hung up but when I pee, I grab the magazines and take a pic ...usually helps to curve that appetite since I like to torture myself by continuing to make more desserts. This morning I made brownies AND turtle cheesecake.
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

Wow...that IS cute!!!!
First, cute bikini, Jo!

Second, way to go Lisa!

Lastly, I'm in. I am looking to lose 30 pounds by mid June, and another 10 by summer's end. "Time to get extreme, baby", as Chalean says on my new workout DVD's. I did P90X with my hubby for a year, and he looks FANTASTIC, while I just got REALLY STRONG! Men, phooey.......... So now I'm upping the cardio and measuring and weighing my food to keep accurate count of my calories. I am weighing myself weekly, so I'll keep you posted.

Best of luck everyone!

Laurie
I haven't reported in because...I seem...to have...gained a little
Jo--that's cute! And I love the cover up.
Cute suit. I was torn between that one and the one on page 60. The retro bathing suit. Called Carmen. not sure if it's the same VS catalog or not. I'm not very computer literate to copy a magazine page.

Thats the depressing thing. Troy is doing nutrisystems with me I have been doing it for a month longer than him and he only has 8 more lbs to go. Men can loose it so easily.

congratulations to everyone this week
:clappurple: :clappurple: :clappurple:

I haven't reported in because I have been traveling and just have snippets of time to glance at the forum. Finally home for awhile and proud that I am down 12 with about 10 more to go! Even the travels didn't get me this time! :D

Sure am craving chips-salsa and a good margarita though--may cheat with that soon!
sheepiezone :excited: ............that's wonderful!!!!!!!!!!! Wow, that's a lot of weight!! woohoo!!!

I hear people gain on vacations, but I ALWAYS lose when I go anywhere ...even if it's just to the parents place. I guess since I'm a stay at home, I'm asking for fat since the laptop is in the kitchen next to the many tupperwares filled with baked goods. ;) For example, I'm eating fudge brownies as I type this and saying "oooh, I'm going to regret this" with every bite (this is already my second brownie and it's only 4 a.m.).
Joahaeyo wrote:

   Sounds like me! Except I'd have indigestion to go along with the pounds!
Yeah Sheepiezone.... Thats great. I always gain on Vacation. I love to try new foods and try different drinks. Mostly I just like to be waited on.

Lisa and Frankie
I'm down to 139-140lbs, BUT ...I've got a feeling I won't do so well this week. If anything, I'll maintain if I am good the rest of the week, so hopefully I can lose 2 more in 2 weeks. My bathing suit fits and mr. j says looks good, but that's if I haven't eaten anything and don't plan to sit down.

5 more to lose (as long as I don't get on the scale today)!
Can't wait to fit nicely into certain dress pants again.

Good for you! I wish I could eat brownies and LOSE! :clappurple: :D
Wish I could eat brownies and lose too LOL

I've been doing horribly. Keep losing and gaining the same 5 lbs :(

Snacking too much and not exercising enough.... sucks.
Lost a whole, whopping 2 pounds here.....

But, I have been exercising whenever my work schedule and rest of my life allows, and I know I am in better shape.
NOT bathing suit shape, however. :?

Oh well.....
Well, I really need to get to work here. I just ordered a new bathing suit....online. But since I don't frequent public pools & there's no beach vacation on the horizon, I tend to be a little bit lax
Hey Mrs J I'm 140 pounds too! That swim suit & cover up are very classy. My skin is sooooo pale I don't think I would wear a bikini, in fact I don't even show my legs in the summer, I have blue veins and cellulite- not to mention the hives I have at the moment

I'm fully aware it sounds silly, but I would love to lose just 7 pounds and keep it off, but it's so hard to lose any weight at all when you can't exercise. I just need to cut out the chocolate candy but I have such bad sugar cravings! What do you guys do when you have a craving?
Cassie, if I have a craving, I eat a small piece of chocolate. I usually suck on it so it lasts longer. I've found that if I want chocolate, nothing else is going to fix it. Some people suggest having a piece of fruit b/c that has sugar, but for me I just eat the piece of fruit and THEN eat the candy anyways. I'll usually just have a coin-sized piece of chocolate and it helps.
Thanks for the tip. How do you not eat the rest? We need a safe to keep chocolate in, and only Greg should know the combination, then he could give me that little piece. I can imagine me & Ru sitting nicely waiting for our treats

I have pretty good self control most of the time when it comes to that sort of thing. I don't know how/why I don't eat the whole bag! I do tell myself that it will always be there tomorrow for me so I can have another then, and that I like being skinny more than I like that extra chocolate...
I think I like both equally as much. I'm with you Hint of Mischief!! I totally can't buy a bag of dove chocolates, bag of jellybellies, or whatever without stuffing myself until the whole thing is gone. I buy Reisens (a favorite) and they're pretty big chewy chocolates and you'd think the "sucking method" would work, but after you've chewed up the caramel ...sweetie, you just want more! ;)

I was just talking to Ron about this. I rather NOT eat dinner if it means eating a bag of chocolate earlier in the day. I have a good idea how much I can eat of something before it's too much. Like Reisens... I can eat 2 bags in a day plus a light dinner and not gain a pound (which means one bag substitutes breakfast and then another for lunch). My problem is... I like to eat more than that. :cow: I blame my parents who always said I have to eat every crumb on my plate before getting up from the table. ;)
..wanted to add that the only way I lose weight is staying hella busy. The busier I am, for some reason when it's time to STOP moving and eat... my body isn't as hungry than when I've been being lazy and not active that day.
^^^^^^ Me too ^^^^^

Chewie and I are going on a 10 mile pack hike tomorrow morning. I hope it helps!
The bathing suit came yesterday 8O (while looking in the mirror)

 Just the way you said it. I'm sure it looks great. I just try not to look down past my neck.

I really need to get spray tanned.

I'm with willowsprite. I keep gaining and losing the same few pounds. Still trying to fight the urge to eat 3 lemon bars this morning. I ate 5 before I went to bed with the promise I'd be good today. I mean I could eat yogurt and homemade healthy muffins (wheat germ, flax, wheat flour, etc) ...but what's the fun in that? I want sugar.

You must have great metabolism... how do you stay so thin????
I'm a sugar addict too. There is leftover cream in the fridge from a balsamic sauce for chicken I made the other night and rather than waste it I'm thinking I should make cream fudge... I really should just dump it down the drain. I mean really, it's worthless, about a cup of cream.... but mmmmm fudge LOL
im back up 16 lbs....so, i guess its 16 to lose.......damn those kona covered macadamia nuts!
I'm down 10 LBS with 12 more to go. Maybe more but I will be happy with the 12. I will be going off my diet next week a little though because Lee is going to be out of town. He is planing on eating at IN and OUT, Chino Bandito's, and Joe's Farm grill so I told him I was gonna be bad too. LOL
Darcy wrote:

At least those extra pounds sound like they were worth it!!! I don't think I'll make my end of the week goal (2 lbs in 2 wks), but I have until Sunday!! We're going on a trip this weekend and I ALWAYS lose weight when I'm not staying at the house. SIL/BIL came over tonight as they drive to Florida, so I made 5 different desserts (they have 3 kids, so I have to make sure they all like something!) and spent way too much time eating them. :cow:
I unfortunately have gained like crazy now.... wasn't exercising, snacking non stop :(

As of today setting a new goal, I want to lose 26 lbs by the end of June.
I'm going grocery shopping today so I'm going to stock up on low calorie snacks, fruit and veggies etc that I want to cut up and have in the fridge basically all the time if the urge to snack hits.
I'm going to start walking again too, I'll start off with 45 mins today and work my way up to a 2 hour walk over the next week and a bit.
Sounds like a good plan Willowsprite.

Yummy. I agree. :)
Sounds like everyone is doing well. I'm down 19 lbs since February. We didn't get to take our trip to FL this past week like we wanted too. But I passed my goal weight by 1lb that I wanted to be at by the 21st. I still want to loose approx another 15lbs. I sure wish I could eat all those yummy sweets that Mrs J. talks about. YUUUMMMMY I'd gain 5lbs aday if I did that. I need to exercise It's the one thing I haven't really started yet. Just kind of dabbled here and there.

Lisa and Frankie
Well maybe those treats are catching up on me. We exercised a ton over the weekend and I didn't meet my goal. Sigh... so this week the goal is 2lbs.
Update--still working on it-lost another 6lbs! :clappurple: :clappurple: Still would like to do another 5 to 8 but REALLY craving some good food! May lighten up a bit--keep exercising and 'watching' it but eat some of the good stuff. In moderation of course!
I've been so busy the last few weeks, I'm going to jump on the scales at some point soon and see if it's working. I've not had any treats for ages, I'm having cereal for breakfast then salad for lunch at work, then my main meal with no snacks or pudding. BUT I'm soooo hungry and craving sugar :(
GRRRRR! Well this week that Lee was gone (we both went off our diets) I actually ate better than him and still managed to gain some back. Lee says that it is just water gain. I don't care though. HRUMPH! He weighs two pounds less then what he started with before he left and I weigh 2 pounds over. I ate salad for every lunch while he was gone and I bet he didn't even see anything green. We have been back on our diets for the last three days so hopefully by the time the week is over I will be back were I started. If not less.... :plead:
Arrgh! I'm just under 10 stone (if I lean backwards on the scales lol) so no success yet.
Hint of Mischief wrote:

Maybe soon then. Lol. So far I am back down to what I was before Lee went on his trip for work. Yeah. Lee is losing his weight a whole lot faster then me. Which is annoying and nice. I told him I was gonna be his huggable girl and he was gonna be the hot one in a speedo this summer. He choked and said there was no way ever he was going to wear a speedo.
Yeah--today hit the goal 25LBs--GONE!!
^^^^^^^ CONGRATS!! ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

That is great. :D :D :D :D

Mine is going nowhere. :(

Mine goes away for a few days & then come back! Sorta like along weekend & work :(
Ughh... having the same problem as everyone else. Hit goal, go back up. Hit goal, go back up. I usually don't have this problem. I can't stop eating. :(
Congratulations to everyone who has lost weight. :clappurple: :clappurple: :clappurple:

I'm in the same boat, just kind of stuck. Nutrisystems sent me a little 10 lb beenie baby bear. I have it sitting on the window sill in the kitchen.

I'm leaving on vaca in 11 days I hope to drop 5 lbs.
Frankies PT suggested starting to run alittle with Frankie 8O 8O 8O
So I have started walking for 4 minutes then I run for 1 minute. I have been doing this for a half an hour. If anything maybe it will firm up my rear and legs. :clappurple: :clappurple:

Then I'll move the running up a minute every week. I wear my compression socks, hoping it will help my leg circulation also.

Hope everyone has a good week.

Pictures please?? 8)
Practical but you must look like a hottie!

sorry I couldn't resist.....

but it does sound like a good plan. I do something similar, except I use the lengths between telephone poles, not minutes, as my intervals.
!!!warning...very whiny post...warning...very whiny post...warning...very whiny post...warning!!!

On a recent Dr. visit, I found out that I had gained almost 25 LBs since my last time on a scale :( :( :( (I dont own one at home...nothing like avoidance, huh? )

So...I thought, back when this thread started, that I was trying to lose about 30LBs...now, were talking 50!!!! 8O AAAAAAAKKKKKK!!!!

The good news is that since that DR. visit 3 weeks ago, Ive managed to take off about 6 LBs. Its a start :? .

The weird thing is, I'm barely eating (mostly because the meds I'm on make me a bit nauseous), and I'm getting a LOT of exercise. My DR. even thought that the sudden weight gain might indicate a thyroid problem (which could have explained my hives and migraines as well) but nope...test came back perfectly normal.

*Sigh* The only really effective med I'm one (a corticosteroid) also has "weight gain" listed as a major side effect. I'm feeling a bit discouraged  .
-6 is very good!

corticosteroids WILL make you gain :(
6 lbs is wonderful, and yes cortisteroids make you gain weight and swell.
Keep up the hard work.

As for my hotness. :clappurple: :clappurple: :clappurple:
I wear long exercise pants. But my loving husband did joke and say
hey honey, there kind of like knee high boots very sexy.
Ah so he's trying to make me feel better.

I didn't think about measuring it that way. I have my mile markers marked by trees. I know what tree is a mile etc.

Lisa and Frankie
6lbs is a great start! Keep going!

This time I tried to be patient and take it off a little slower--I usually want to 'crash diet' and try to get it off quickly  I think that it was a little more effective to go slower. Working now to maintain but 'enjoy' some food now and again!
I'm enjoying good food far too frequently. It's supposed to be summer and of course it's raining here, so no pressure to lose weight.
I don't even like checking into this thread b/c I'm doing so bad. Exercising really good. Eating - not so good. I'm hoping this week is good.
Joahaeyo wrote:

Ditto... lol... I gained SO much since this thread started

My new goal is to lose 20 lbs by July 26th.
May I suggest you cut the sugar and watch the carbs, which turn into sugar. Belly Fat Cure really works, 16 lbs since January and not even exercising. Want to lose 40 more (lost 50 so far) but hubby not liking that idea.
Congratulations on the 50 lbs
great job.... :clappurple: :clappurple: :clappurple:

Lisa and Frankie
I've cut down sugar and carbs dramatically, and have gone down about a clothing size and a half in the last two months. I'm pretty impressed with myself, since these are plus sizes, and there's a pretty big difference size to size. I started with a new doctor recently, and she insisted on a full set of blood tests...I dreaded it as everything was out of whack about six months ago, and my eating habits were beyond dreadful.

Everything just came back as perfect. Whew! My good cholesterol needs a slight bump up and she suggested adding salmon (wild) once or twice a week to help with that. Not bad. First time in my life I've been told to add to my eating...and I love salmon.

So, now just another sixteen thousand or so pounds to go. Sigh. But since I'm not using a scale (too punitive) and having some success with an easy to follow plan, I'm actually not feeling like I'm missing out.

I am allowing myself one small slurpee a week...I live in the slurpee capital of the world (yes, it's true...look it up lol) so I can't give those up totally. And everyone deserves a little treat now and then.

I think that's a brilliant idea ...but I just can't do it. My husband almost says this daily to me. For me, it's portion control. I have the willpower but I don't seem to be exercising the use of it. :) I did good today ...up until an hour ago. I ate some cheesecake (on Oprah's favorite list) for an early celebration for father's day. One slice which is super tiny (like length/width of two fingers) was 35g. I had 3 slices.
Ive done really well in the past by knocking sugar out of my diet. This was a part of my current plan for losing weight...

BUT ...Tragically, a few booths down from mine at my regular weekly art fair, we now have a booth called Cake. They are (obviously) a bakery, a really, really good one, and even though I have HEROICALLY resisted buying anything from them... every damn week they over-bake  Meaning, they walk around at the end of the day passing out FREE CUPCAKES!!!! :twitch:  Seriously now, I ask you, IS THIS FAIR????

Evil, yummy JERKS! :bdcake:
I feel the pain. I did really well today - I was at work for 12 hours!
Then I came home and had a meatball and cheese hotpocket and salad for supper.....and then a bowl of Lucky Charms cereal (but with skim milk!) and then some sour cream and onion chips and a can of soda......and all this after 8pm! :(
We just got back from vacation. My plan was, bring our nutrisystems breakfasts and lunches and eat out for dinner. So I got a place with a kitchen. Breakfasts were fine, followed healthy eating to a T. We would head out and walk 2 miles down the beach and stop at the beach bar. Have a crummy lunch and a couple cocktails, swim, lay out in the sun then walk 2 miles back. Then dinner a couple more cocktails, dessert. I am not getting on the scale for a week.

But we had a great time doing it.

So nice to read the board and hear other people being so unsuccessful. I always feel terrible too esp when I had been good ALL day. :)
That's so funny Dawn re the lucky charms... that's one of my favorite cereals LOL

I also really love cocoa puffs and fruity pebbles but you can't get them in Canada anymore, not in years.... do you guys still have them in the states?

Anyway I'm finally starting to lose again.... 6 lbs this week. :)

I know we still have Cocoa Puffs here in the States but not sure about Fruity Pebbles..I don't go down the cereal aisle too often.
YAY to losing weight. I AM VERY motivated to be hot by this weekend ...my bday.

Yes, we still have fruity, cocoa and even some new versions of pebbles cereal. :) I can easily eat a box!

Yep, still have Cocoa Puffs and Fruity Pebbles. And both in a couple different generic brands as well. :clappurple:
I LOVE Cocoa Puffs!!!
Hello all....just ventured down to this section of the forum. This is my type of support group. With three kids, three Sheepies, two cats, a hubby and a full-time job I have very little free time, so something virtual might be a great option.

I decided this week (after shopping for shorts, ugg!) that I'm tired of clothes that don't fit me well. If they fit in the butt, they gap in the waist. I made contact with one of our ex-police officers who has also been a personal trainer. I talked to him and told him how frustrated I was. I'm not a "dieter" and not going to pretend to be. However, I will watch what I eat and will commit to drinking more water and cut out the sweet tea.

Like I told Turnage (trainer), I'm not so concerned about what the scale says, I'd rather loose inches and feel better. I've purchased healthy snacks for home and work and stopped eating lunch out. I've also been good about the water.

There is another police officer here that wants to loose weight so she will quit smoking. Tonight we are meeting Turnage for a night in the local community college gym. Wish us all luck.
TEN   . I have a new job and have to wear clothes everyday, no problem other than all the suits I have are 6/8 and I can't get them on. I ate a family size candy bar every night this winter while laying in bed reading and it finally caught up with me. I usually don't eat during the day-maybe a fiber bar-but when I get home all bets are off. This is what works for me:never have food in the house :D Stale crackers taste really good if that's all you've got. My biggest problem is that I'm not a meal eater but just snack all night. I don't sleep more than 2 hours at a time so I do eat at 3am  . I hung a cute skirt in my bathroom hoping that will inspire me.

That's exactly like me, if I'm at work or busy with anything I forget to eat, don't eat all day most days but the snacking at night is what did me in... and not just that but the kinds of things LOL

That was EXACTLY my problem--I could go all day and not eat at all--but then at night--popcorn-ice cream-candy bars-chips and all kinds of other good stuff! I had really gotten my metabolism out of whack and no matter what I did exercise wise--nothing worked. I would exercise and lose a couple of pounds and then put them right back on!

I finally gave in and forced myself to begin with breakfast and eat 4 small meals a day--no large snacks at night and cut out wine during the week :( (miss that)!
Since March I have lost 26lbs! :clappurple: :clappurple:
Now the big deal is to keep it off--and begin to enjoy some good food in moderation--I have found that if I will stick to this through the week and then just enjoy what I want on the weekends I can maintain and still lose slowly!

One of the best results is that my husband has lost 35lbs too! His knees really needed that relief! He wants to lose another 25 so I will stay true for awhile!
For me, eating breakfast does nothing for my appetite like most people. I'm still just as hungry for lunch/dinner. And... lunch isn't worth it at all to me if I have to eat light. That's like making me eat breakfast [something I'm never excited about] 3-4 times a day. I always am left wanting more... However, if someone wants to grill me some burgers every morning for breakfast ...then I'd be satisfied. :)

I'm with you there!! Eating breakfast just makes me hungrier all day long--BUT-what I think the change did do for me was wake up my metabolism. :clappurple: For so many years I think I kept my body in 'starvation' mode by not eating regularly so it just HELD ON to the fat!  Even with working out--the pounds just wouldn't budge. A friend finally convinced me to try it--it worked for me.

Now I just need to try to keep the meals small and often!
I hate to say it but giving up the wine is what I hated. I love to enjoy a glass of wine with dinner. I'm on prednisone right now a very high dose. All bets are off. I got on the scale this morning, and have gained 2lbs since I left for vacation over a week ago.

I think it's a never ending battle.

Lisa and Frankie
Ugh well with prednisone just have fun and enjoy the excuse since you'll gain whether you pig out or not LOL
:twitch: I've put on half a stone :twitch:

It's time to get serious.
