Threads with new posts?

Is it just me or does the new forum deal with threads differently?
It thought that the old forum moved any threads with new posts up to the top of the list and now I suspect they are listed in some other order as there seems to be posts even on page two which say they have new posts but maybe its the system detecting that I didnt read them way back when they were posted.
Do you know what the criteria is Ron?
Also where is the sheepie olympics thread, I cant find it any more, I'm sure its there and I cant see for looking but can someone give me directions please. I havent been able to find it all day. :(

Hi Mim, I don't really know about the threads thing, but the sheepie Olympics is still here in Chat, just scroll down a bit :)
Mim: I think they are listed is order of the time....the most current response to any thread at the top & so on down.

I thought that was how it worked too but yesterday I replied to a post and then looked again at the site a bit later and couldn't find the thread at all! I always use the 'View new posts since your last visit' tab but that seems to always be about 6 pages long on the new look site - and believe me - I visit very often!! Not complaining though - just glad the site is still here  Thanks Ron!
Aha!! Just realised that the first tab isn't actually 'view new posts since your last visit' anymore but actually really reads 'view unread posts' which explains why the post I just replied to had disappeared! That will teach me to actually read what I'm clicking on and not assuming its still the same as it was! 8O
Also keep in mind that In your user control panel you can (may have?) alter the way the messages are displayed.

In the control panel it's on the left hand menu under "Board Preferences" then "Display Options", if I recall correctly.
Weird... Glad I'm not the only one confused and lost. lol

I have the "view new posts" bookmarked and it's the ONLY link I post since it's the easiest way to view posts in all forums. Well, I spent the ENTIRE day no one posted b/c I only saw barney's lost post and then one or two replies in the sheepie olympics thread. Every time I hit refresh, no new posts came up. I decided to hit general chat ...and what do you know, all kinds of new posts!!
The olympics post just mysteriously came back again for me.
I'm sure it wasnt there for a day because its a fav and I hunted everywhere for it by clicking on every individual forum and I went to chat twice. I'm also noticing that some quite old threads are pink to say I havent read them but their a page or two back.
I'll go and look at the settings you mentioned Ron.
:D Hi all, I had eye surgery a few weeks ago and since then my vision isn't quite right. :( It is thought that this will improve over time but ...!

In the meantime my reading and typing is slightly askew. 8O When I first saw the new format, I thought there was something wrong either with my vision or somthing wrong with the computer!

So relieved to discover that the change is real and not a figment of my imagination! 8) Once I get used to it, it should be fine. :clappurple:
I THINK IT IS YOUR EYESIGHT.
YOU'VE REACHED OAS.ORG SENORITA.
YOU ARE TYPING INTO YOUR TELLY.

Get better soon please Lynda
LOL Ron....

BTW did you mean to spell the name of your own website wrong?
I preferred the way it was before too re displaying last new posts etc... going to have to play around with it and see if I can change it.
Is anyone else having problems with color? I can't get the color to work in my signature.
Seems like you've color working in your signature to me. Either you fixed the problem or there is another issue such as your post display options or your browser or your eyes. :D :D

Si. Oes.org is frequently confused for OAS.org I had to give up on allowing all mis-addressed emails to oes.org because so many were intended for OAS.org.

OAS stands for the Organization of American States which has an extremely large Spanish-speaking constituancy. In Spanish the organization is abbreviated OEA, so between
OEA and
OAS I guess multiple-lingual people can wind up with
OES via transposition or some other neuro-psychological problem.

Or eye surgery. ;)
:D See what happens when you miss a week or so!!!

Doing my best to recover. Good news: this week the distortions are not as pronounced.

When watching TV, all the news anchors look as if they were stars in a horror flick if I watch them with just my right eye (post op)!
