Heart's BUMP

~~~will be removed today.....
As I type she is whining for water~~~ ((like I don't know what she wants!!! :roll: :roll: )) And she is almost on my lap, staring at me!!!!
I am sure once I drop her off, a wave of guilt will wash over me (I'm Italian, dontcha know. I grew up with GUILT!!! :lol: :lol: )
I am a little anxious but we both will survive..just need a little support from all who have walked in my shoes.
She will be getting her hips and elbows tested while she is under, a teeth cleaning if needed... and I have cautioned them to try not to scalp her too bad...... :roll: :roll:
I still have to go to work, concentrate on my job, and TRY not to worry..
I will post after she gets home tonight..
Good luck to both of us!!!!! :wink: :wink: :wink:
Awww she will be fine Maizie had an Op. too on friday!!! Shes back to her normal self now!!! Try not to worry I Know!!! I was the same!!!! :ghug:
Hang in there, Val!
Even though it's not a huge surgery, I think we all get the same way. The no water guilt is bad enough!
What time is her surgery?
:crossed: :crossed:
She has to be at the vet's between 9 and 10...and since I have to be at work at 8, I took her with me ...she is in the car, staring at the front glass door...I keep going to the door and waving to her..... :twisted: :twisted: :twisted: ..she is a good sport, just sitting in the drivers seat watching the world go by....Maryann, who sits by the door is keeping an eye on her and yelling at me that I am being mean by not letting her in ~~~ IF my boss happens to show up...(((Murphy's Law)) she would not be too happy to see a dog in my office...she is not a dog lover.... :cry: :cry: :cry:
Going to take her in about 5 minutes....long day for me today!!! Where's that darn valium???????? :wink: :wink: :wink:
Thanks, guys
:ghug: for Heart that her surgery goes okay today.
:ghug: for you that you survive the anxiety until you can bring her home.
The fun will begin when you have to keep her from messing with her stiches (there may be a cone in her future) and have to keep her from rough housing Cosmo.
Keep up posted.
She should be an old pro by now about the water thing. :wink:
:ghug: To Heart!!! :hearts:
And :ghug: to you Val!!! Try not to worry!!! I know!! I was doing the same last friday!!!! She will be fine!!!!
:ghug: :ghug:
Two big hugs, one for each of you.
All our paws are crossed!
I will be a wreck on the 26th. Maggie goes in for spaying. 8O
Everything will be just fine.
I just went through the same thing last week. It's a terrible feeling.
Lots of hugs :ghug: :ghug:
Lisa and Frankie
Well we just brought her home. A very woozie Heart still managed a couple of drug-induced barks at (poor) Coz, tried to run after him but only slipped and slid across the floor, on her good side TG....After showing Coz and Pearl she was still capable of being ""tootie""~~she went to the toy box, grabbed her baby, laid on the tuffet and snuggled with her 'special friend'...
She is ZONKED~~~~~~~
The vet told me that is was just a run of the mill cyst..no worries. Her hips and elbows are perfect, but we are sending them to OFA for documented results.
Just a side note::: While 'we' (dino and I) waited to see the vet about her results, all of a sudden my hubby, the man who had to take a shower and blow dry his hair while I was began labor with my son, and asked me to wait while he got ready...(it WAS the 70's)... bolted up to the counter and politely but firmly told the receptionist..."I would like you to take me in the back so I can see my dog...NOW!!!"...She did~~~and he was happy....
NOTE to SELF::::::: Leave him at home for ALL future vet visits~~~~~~~ :oops: :oops: :oops:
Glad all is well. (and husbands are all the same)
Glad she's better :) . But I always thought guilt was a Jewish thing?
^^^^
I always heard it was catholic guilt?
She is JUST like her mother with that Suck toy!
Poor baby but she will be fine and great news about the hips and elbows!! Checkers & Caly both passed great too!
^^^^^
Well.. since went to St. Ambrose CATHOLIC School , with uniforms and nuns up the wazoo.....AND being Italian...I have double guilt!!!!
And I assume there is guilt in ALL nationalities!!!!!! :wink: :wink: :wink: :wink: AND I have done my duty by handing it down to me kids....NOW to figure out how to get the dogs to feel guilty about how they treat their poor sainted MOM...and I will have it made!!!!!!!! :roll: :roll: :roll: 8O 8O
yeah, good luck with that
Such good news! Give her a hug from us. And a hug for you too!
Glad Heart and Dino are OK :lol: And you too Val!
Give little Heart a big hug :hearts:
PS - when I was in labor with the girls (preemie twins, mind you!) Todd had to stop at the Holiday gas station and buy cigarettes on the way to the hospital! Men.....
I am glad our baby is home and okay.
Give her a heal quick kiss and hug from "Aunt" Judi. :kiss:
Tell her that her silly boyfriend can't wait to see her and was glad that her x-rays indicated she is in good condition for wrestling. :roll:
I hope Nick doesn't read the forum. :wink:
So glad little Miss Heart is ok. Love her snuggle baby!
Val, great news that heart is well. She looks a lot like Tiggy snuggled there with her baby, except Tiggy would kill the baby.
I hope that the resemblence bodes well for Tiggy's career as a therapy dog.
My Dad stayed at work and my grandad took my Mom to hospital when she started labor with me. I was born just after midnight, my Dad phoned the hospital at 10am during his tea break to check on my Mom. The night staff had forgotten to call him and the day staff didnt know. So when they told him we were both doing well he kept asking who they meant. SIGH by rights I should have issues. Then again, maybe I do. :D
Dawn...Mim...those are GREAT stories!!!!! I just marvel at just how silly men can be at times...
Not to hijack my own thread...When my brother and his wife were pregnant with their first child in the '80, my brother, a high school theology teacher decided to get a pager so his wife could contact him since he was at the school on weekends (wayyy before cells)...One Sunday afternoon, my SIL, Patty, called me and said she had been in labor, Matt wasn't answering his pager, and could someone take her to the hospital???? I sent Dino to go and after he left, began trying to get a hold of him.
About 2 hours later, Matt finally called and asked where Patty was ???? Of course I went balistic explaining how she was trying to page him, but he would not answer....His response???????????? """"oh!!!!! Is THAT what that noise was???? I was grading papers, and couldn't figure out where that buzzing was coming from...it was driving me CRAZY!!!!"""
All worked out and he was able to get to the hospital and be with Patty when she delivered, but my poor husband was freaking out, since he was sitting with Patty, thinking that if Matt didn't show up, HE would have to go into the dellivery room with her and HELP his sister-in law deliver his nephew!!!!!!!!! :roll: :roll: :oops: :oops: ...like I said...men can be sooo silly!!!!!!! :lol: :lol: :lol: :lol: :lol: :lol:
Awww Glad shes home and all is well!!! :hearts: Tell her Maizie Hattie and Me send her lots of cuddles and :kiss:
Val, Glad Dino didnt have to go to his nephew's birth. :lol:
This is almost worth a thread of its own.
Where was your husband while you were in labor??
I'll bet there's heaps of funny ones.
Well, heart's just fine, but husbands aren't!!! I'm glad i didn't register yet, i can runaway before the new thread starts. 8O
Actually, I was surprised he didn't~~~
HE was taking care of his baby....I was in the vet's office asking my billion questions, looking at the xrays and getting his opinion etc........
But I think she had to pee~~ there are SOME things that 'daddy' can't do for her... :oops: :oops: :roll: :roll:
How's everyone doing today? :?:
some observations....
After I brought her home after surgery, her hair was a mess! Separating, some mats..just really funky looking ( I brushed her before she left)... I guess from them moving her around..and her topknot was damp??? Can't figure that one out!
For the past 2 days, she has had terrible gas..she gets so upset about it too!!! Tries to run away from it... :roll: :roll: :oops: :oops: (( Maybe she is just embarrassed... :oops: :oops: )
And although she is acting almost normal, she is sleeping alot.
She hasn't messed with the incision, yet! It could still be hurting too much for her to touch! Yesterday morning, she was shaking and in a tight ball, I think it was REALLY hurting..poor baby.... :(
Thanks for asking..
I hope Heart feels better today :D
Poor Heart.
I hope she's feeling better today.
Does she have any pain meds??
The anesthetic can lower the body temperature & make them colder. My vet had a note on the receipt about that saying they might be chilly so to keep them in a warm, dry place. Of course Mariah was too worried about WHY she only got a 1/2 ration of food for dinner. No way was she gonna be cold! She was fussin' & fumin' too much about that! Today you'd never know she had surgery yesterday. How is Heart doing now? :hearts:
Sorry I'm just catching up on this thread, but I'm so glad Heart is home and on the mend. :clappurple: Please give her a gentle ear scratch from me. :aww:
And oh, the stories I could tell about catholic school and Italian guilt - but they'll keep for another day. :roll:
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
Could be an interesting thread~~~~~~ :lol: :lol: :lol: :lol:
((and Heart is fine tonight!!!)))
