Anyone in S Michigan who needs a great vet

I have just the one. He is in Clinton Twp but would be worth the drive. If anyone is interested please pm me and I will give you the details. He is wonderful with OES and cares more about the dog than the money. Still trying to find OES Club of Greater Detroit, it may have been disbanded.

Hi Holly,

Another sheepdog lover here from Michigan...Shelby Twp, not too far from you. Small world!
Hi, I also live in Shelby Twp!
If you are interested some of the MI people are thinking about getting our dogs together. We have Karen(Sterling Hgts)Jill(Hazel Park) and Jil(Redford) and my name is Holly. It is a small world. The people at the end of my street also have 2 OES.
I'm actually in Ferndale! I felt like I had to come to my own immediate rescue and make sure everyone knew I wasn't in Hazel-tucky! No offense to any real Hazel Park natives.

I know, I'm goofy.
Hi Jill-I am sorry :o I know you live in Ferndale :D Please forgive me
Now let's see if we can keep Jill-with-two-L's and Jil-with-one-L straight in our minds, LOL.

Jill, I actually stipulated that I lived in SOUTH Redford when I first posted.

No offense to anyone who lives in Redford.

Jill,

I'm still laughing about Hazel-tucky  I wonder if that's a MI thing?

Holly from Shelby-tucky
Hi Holly

Would be fun to get the dogs together! I live in the 24 mile and Vandyke area and have a female, Gracie, who will be 2 in June.

Lorraine
You live pretty close to my sister-- she's at 26 and Van Dyke. I'm hoping we can get the whole group together. There's actually only a few of us Michiganders but it would still be fun.

Holly, how long are you up north again? I guess I could look it up but I'm lazy right now!
Hi Lorraine

I'm at 21 & Van Dyke exway. Jil,Jill and I are talking about getting the dogs together soon, do you know if there are any off leash parks in our area? Keep checking back here for details if you are interested.

Holly
I hope I'm only here for a couple more weeks...I want to come home!
Hi Holly,

There are no dog parks in Shelby....if I had a fenced in yard we could meet here, but since I don't that isn't an option. I think Sterling Heights has one....I will try to find out.
Lorraine
Karen (Beau and Mollie) lives in Sterling Heights. Jill said there is a nice park in Pleasant Ridge by the zoo, that's not far for us.
Holly, I meant to ask you. The park that you mentioned in Clinton Twp that required a pass, was that the one across from the jail, off Elizabeth I think?

My park is nice because it's free, has clean up bags on site, water, is a large open space and the people are very nice but, on the down side, it's really dusty since the constant dog running wore the grass away. It's not much to look at! I guess I just wanted to make that disclaimer. My dogs and I love going there but I just don't want anyone else to be disappointed or feel like I sold it to be much fancier than it is. Also, your sheepie will come home pretty dusty. Nothing a brush out won't fix though.

Those are my warnings. Now that I feel as if I've properly prepared you, we may proceed ;)
The one in Clinton Twp is on Canal and Romeo Plank, by the twp offices. The one you mentioned sounds fine to me, I'll probably bring Rosco and he loves being dirty :D He has short hair now anyway because it won't grow so he's easy to clean. My fear is that he'll act shy because he's only used to Daisy and the other boys....or he'll act like a nut and humiliate me :D
That's what the dog park is all about-- humiliation and/or being ignored ;)
Oh yeah, and Lucy humping Jack Russells. No, wait, that's humiliation again...
Well, Rosco is 6 and he humps Daisys head, very sauve. He will also hump a pillow so I'm not sure that says much for Daisy.
Lol. Clyde doesn't hump Lucy but, how can I gracefully say this? She'll be lying peacefully on the floor and he walks up and, uh, puts "it" on her nose. Clowns that we are, my boyfriend and I can't help but laugh but Lucy is definitely less than amused.
   Just think, we would be more humiliated if they were kids, at least people find dog behaviour funny!
It would be my luck that I would have a kid that did that...
Maybe a Rescue Remedy martini would help :D
If I had kids, I'd need to be doing shots of the stuff.
Rescue Remedy Martini never thought of that. We've done Benadryl Dacaris before but that was an anaphylactic drinking ememrgency!
I can't claim the rescue remedy martini, that was Willowsprite's. However with summer coming up a benadryl daiquiri sounds refreshing :D
To continue the humping dog discussion...(There are just some phrases that you never think you'll say in your life!)

We were at a dog show yesterday and there were some handlers talking, waiting to go in the ring. Well, they weren't paying attention to their Bearded Collies and one was humping the other ones head! When they did finally realize it, the poor humpee had ended up with jersey hair, very big and kind of looking like an OES. You've got to love it when it happens to the pros too!
What's really funny is hump and bitch in the same sentence and not think anything of it
