Dribbling

One of my intact males lives with a friend of mine. He is an extremely submissive dog, always has been. He was raised in a kennel for 10 months before he arrived here. Since then, he has been a housedog. He was not housebroke when we got him, however it was no time before he was housetrained. One thing however. Sometimes when someone approaches him, he will dribble just a bit. By dribble I mean a bit of pee will come out. Any ideas on how to make him stop doing this? This is my first experience with a dog who does this. Has anyone else had a dribbler?

I had a female dog who always did that and is very submissive, and we would just tell people not to touch her. Then when she felt comfortable with them and came TO THEM... then she wouldn't pee. Oh and had to pet her from under the neck to the top of the head or her body b/c if you put your hand on TOP of her head first... she would squat.

Yuki is the same way with dominant males even if they've never said a thing to her or are acting submissive towards her (she can feel it). We always tell guests to ignore her until she calms down then proceed.
What happens if the guest is instructed to simply ignore him for a while? No eye contact, no touching, no talking to him. Allow him to come up and sniff and initiate the interaction. It sometimes takes enough pressure off a dog to stop the behavior.

Granted this was a bitch but...
My supremely alpha OES-mix would pee when my sister would come over and she welcomed her with a high, excited voice. Sigh. She was told to knock it off
Haha... same advice 8)
But you beat me by a minute!
 I hate that happens to me. :P
I won't mention that you had to edit
(I did too but there's no proof of it! Errr... except for my admission.)

Let's both hope the advice is sound :sidestep:
