Congratulations!!! to BOTH of YOU!!!!!!

We need to keep in touch..Heart is going into the RA ring on Feb. 13th.....Last time we tried, we were asked to leave the ring.....

Heart seems to think that offlead means...go run around the ring and 'jump' for joy!!!!!!!!!

((((I am sure Jose will have no problem!!! maybe he can give Heart some lessons.....)))))
Well, José does generally stay right with me. But he's still unsure of the jumps. Just doesn't seem to think they are all that necessary in life 8O . So we need to work on that & the broad jump alot before we enter RA. He's never seen a broad jump. He's a boy & he errs on the side of caution. Last night the entire agility class was cheering when he went into the tunnel up to his shoulders  . As my husband says, you couldn't ask for a better behaved dog to live with :? .

Ok, OFFICIALLY congratulations now 8)

RN stands for Rally Novice and is the 1st level of titling in the sport of Rally. It has been an AKC sport I believe since 2005, so is fairly new.

Rally Novice is on lead, Rally Advanced (RA) and Rally Excellent (RE) are off lead, add jumps and have more difficult stations respectively. Also less interaction (clapping, leg patting are not allowed in RE) with the higher levels. There are 3 legs (qualifying scores in 3 shows) to get the title.

Then they also have RAE - is which you enter and (hopefully) qualify in both RA and RE in the same show to get one leg. You get the title RAE after 10 legs.

My basset Simon got his RE (all titles in 3 shows each) before I retired him at age 9 (he is a rescue I adopted at age 6), and Chewie has his RAE - all 10 legs in 10 shows.
It is fun!

Here is a link that explains it well -

Thanks for the insight Dawn
