OMG we have gone modern!!

Just had a big screen LED TV installed, WOW, like being at the movies. No more telling sheepies to move there big butts or fat heads away from the front with the old TV. Up high now, going cross eyed at the BIG SCREEN. WOO HOO. :excited: :yay:

We like we like we like :excited: . Now to perfect the couch potato stance forever 8)  I think I will never move my butt again, in TV heaven :P   Now with extra Digital channels, might need glasses eventually for the square eyes developing!! LOL. :twitch:

Congratulations! Enjoy watching it, with its vibrant colors and sharp
detail. You're worth it!
Cool! 8)

Syd will be devastated. How is going to make sure he gets enough attentiion if he cant block your view by sitting right in front of the TV any more.

Be careful, he might get creative and start up an indoor agility course or some such.
Congrats!! We got one for Christmas from the in-laws and mr. j is stoked over it!! Always talking about the picture. So I can imagine the excitement you're feeling.

I, on the otherhand, like the way it looks in the room but not the tv. For some reason, my eyes have always had issues watching big tvs that are so vivid and bright. I get a massive headache. I can't even look at an IMAX screen for 5 minues before having to put my head down and turn away. This is with me trying to push through the pain. I end up leaving and feeling like I have to throw up. So with this new tv, we've turn down all the colors as much as possible and made it dim. Still hurts my eyes though ...just not as much. I just watch tv from the kitchen most of the time and then say it's bed time when I'm done with things around the house. :?
Congrats!
We haven't made that leap yet.
But I remember that same feeling going from dialup to wireless!
We put ours in the bedroom.............Now there is no reason to leave the bed (according to Molly), but she can still get her butt and body in the way when she sits up.
The big screen is only the beginning. Now you need the Home Theater 7.1 (HTS) sound system, a nice PS3 BluRay/Game console would work well which is linked to your PC through a WiFi connection and you will think you are sitting right in the middle of everything you are watching or listening to. :D You can then watch BluRay discs, listen to any format of music, and view or listen to anything on your PC right through the TV and HTS. Where was this stuff back in the 50's! You haven't lived until you get operatonal instructions on how to navigate the system from your 6 year old Grandson. I think he even lets me win once in a while when we use the Game function. Also remember, if you have more than one room that can facilitate a big screen set it is only a matter of time until there is another.
ooh, fun, a big screen LED flat screen! Now you just need to hook your computer up to it so your computer screen can be giant too!
Yaay! We are getting a TV sometime this year too. Yep... A TV. Not had one for a few years so it's going to be a shock to the system
Lord Of The Rings comes out on blu-ray here soon, that's worth getting a TV & PS3 for in our opinion

He is not impressed, sat under the shelf looking for the old TV to plant his butt in front of. Poor neglected boy

I'm in TV heaven :go:
waiting for my old t.v to die
Look at the size of the Pizzas 8O :twitch:

The TV is awesome, comes also with a bonus smaller one which we will take up to the farm when it arrives.

In OZ analogue transmission is being ditched by 2012 so we had to get modern with Digital.

We've been on digital here for a year now. No other option. Have had the big screen LED for a few years as well as HD & updates as they come out. My only problem is the danged remote is so complicated! :x Went to watch a DVD one night while I was home alone & spent 30 minutes on the phone with computer-wiz son (who lives 4 hours away) to figure out what I did wrong that my DVD was playing, had spanish subtitles & no sound! Mostly if I watch the big TV I just watch whatever anybody else wants to watch! Otherwise I feel comfortable with my 18" with the built in DVD/VCR in my grooming room. I can figure out channels on that one! But no HD
It wasn't like this when my Dad had me (the family remote) get up and change the channels on our old, old Zenith black & white set.

So were we but the 28 year old Zenith kept on working & had a perfect picture too! 8O They sure don't make 'em like that anymore
Lisa--that picture is so funny! The way it's cropped and your brick walls makes it look like it's a pizza oven!
Ha, ha, I went to visit Lisa today. Poor Syd is so starved for attention now that he cant sit in front of the old telly  that he needed to sit on the couch and lean on me. :D

Babs felt left out and joined in too. It was very cosy with the three of us on a two seater couch. 8O

Ah, stepping up in the world is hard......
