Who is going to win Super Bowl XLIV? COLTS or SAINTS?

I can't believe I'm the first one to make a thread esp since I don't like either team! Mr. J is a huge Saints fan, so I'm totally rooting against them.

Mr J shook me like a crazy man last night when Saints won. I was certain the vikings would make me proud!!! I'm generally the one who likes to rub things in. :(

So goooooooooo COLTS!!

I don't watch football much anymore - and I was at work during most of the game. Of course I wanted the Vikings to win, but they always seem to have some issue that stops them in the end... :(

My attitude toward professional sports in general has really gone south, and I can't see buying overly priced tickets to events that support spoiled, overpaid athletes. It would be one thing if they were good roll models.....
Wouldn't any person's heart bleed just a little for those Saints.........??
They came from the New Orleans Aint's, have never been to a Super Bowl, till now, and of course arrive as being the under dog.
MY heart goes out to them and there following, thinking that it could be a Great Boost to the local spirit and city. :cheer:
Feels like half of their city lives in Houston now, and the majority of them weren't their good citizens, so no... that doesn't make me want to cheer for them. I do feel for what some went through, but when it comes to football ...most football fans didn't change who they liked because of what happened. :)

But again, you've got Mr. J's blood and whatever else Saint fans want to give them. ;)
I am not a football fan but my Dad and hubby are and all I can say it was a sad day yesterday for us NY'ers when the Jets lost
I'M ROOTING FOR THE BENGALS.

Pretty much ditto here. We've wasted too much time caring and watching the stuff. No mas, no mas.
Well taking sports for what its worth - escapism, and not being a follower or a fan actually I have to say

GO SAINTS!!!! they deserve it, the city deserves it and who doesn't like a Cinderella story?

Yeah me too....
Actually, I don't watch any of it but, when talking
to a friend last night that IS a Vikings fan....
I said
"AWWWW are they not going to be in the World Series?"

Of course I do know the difference there....
My cousin plays pro baseball.
Lori, you may have heard of him he is from Sparta.
Well.....................

The Saints surely deserve it, no doubt about that. Their record this year was astounding and it's good to see a team who played well all season long reach the Super Bowl, instead of one who got lucky and squeaked through as a wild card

BUT, Peyton Manning and the Colts got robbed of a perfect season because their GM made the decision to rest the starters for the last three games of the season. There's no guarantee that they could have won all 16 games, but they should have had the opportunity to try. Yes, injury was a risk, but still..........A perfect season is nearly impossible to attain, only the Dolphins in the '70's (Perfect season and Super Bowl win) and New England (no losses regular season but lost the Super Bowl) have managed it in the last 40 years. Peyton Manning is one of the very few class act athletes in a sport that has sadly become dominated by prima donnas and whiners. He earned that perfect season - He deserved it. The look on his face and on that of his teammates said it all as they watched the last 3 games from the sidelines. So, I guess the Super Bowl is the consolation prize.

Either way, it's going to be a heck of a game. I have no idea who will win but I'm happy either way.
I really don't care who wins...now. I just wanted to see the end of the Brett Favre show...ummm Vikings Game. It was a happy time in my house last night.

   That's what my husband said!
This is a tough one! Peyton Manning made Tennessee proud and is a class act--always root for the Colts because of him--But the Saints really 'rocked' this year!
Guess I'll just enjoy the game--and cheer for both sides! LOL!

 So... you're feeling our pain too? 8)
I was really saddened by comments from a few players and fans around the league this year about how they were happy that the Patriots were gone. The Pats were sooooo bad for so very long, why do people have to be such poor sports?

I wanted to see Favre in the Bowl, but I'm happy with the two teams that are in. I might even watch the game! :)
I want the Saints to win. I like Reggie Bush and Drew Brees and the pretty gold and black uniforms 8)

When the Chargers were booted, my alliance went to the Saints. :D
GO SAINTS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
We have been in exile for 40 years! LOL!!!!
Drew Brees has been such a godsend to our city.
He has embraced this city like he is a native New Orleanean.
This team deserves to go all the way!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Peyton Manning of course is Archie's son.
Archie still lives in New Orleans and his sons were raised in New Orleans.
Of course Archie will be rooting for the Colts.
The Saint fans in New Orleans are like no other, in the world.
They are true to their team, stuck it out through the good, the bad and the ugly.
Even if we do not win the Superbowl, we, New Orleaneans still feel like a million bucks.
BLESS YOU BOYS!!!!
GOOOOOOO SAINTS!!!!!!
Robin
Go Colts!!!!!
Since my Viking's are are out I don't really care. And I've only been a Viking's fan since AD arrived.

The funny thing about the Saint's win. Hartley tried to pick up my daughter at a bar awhile back. His pickup line was "I just got cut by the Broncos." <shakes>
Right after the game, she told he would have done better if he had used the "I'm going to put the Saints in the Superbowl" line. LOL
I'm rooting for the Saints because I like the underdog, they beat the Vikings, and the Colts beat my beloved Bears in the Superbowl 3 years ago and I will forever hold that grudge!

I will say, I don't care who wins so long as there are good snacks.
Great game.... except for the ending.   Our Colts didn't pull through.

Congratulations, New Orleans, on a well-deserved win. :-)
Great game - unlike Nita I loved the ending ;)
WISH I WAS IN THE FRENCH QUARTER,

Way to go New Orleans, no Aint's anymore.
Good Job, Well done..........bigger beat down than I expected.

Won $32 at the first party we attended!!! Rooting for the underdog Saints.
Can I lock my own thread. I don't want to talk about it.
