Groomer will regret giving coupons out?

So I go to this website every few days and it has deals for that city ...some too good to pass up. Over the weekend, it was "get your dog fully groomed, the works of any degree, any breed and size ...for 25 bucks" The place from everything I can find... has excellent reviews and the comments where people got this coupon also were all positive. Each dog counts as a new customer.

I obviously bought 2. Normally we pay $160 for our dogs, and the groomer comes out looking like a tornado hit her because it obviously took all day. Boy will these people be surprised when we bring in our dogs.

We have until july to use the coupons. I'll also be on the lookout to see if they ever have this promotion again or if the fine print next time says "every breed but old english sheepdogs."

It sounds like a good deal. When are you taking them in?
$80 each or $160 each?

Regardless, $25 is a great deal! Hopefully it turns out wonderful for you.

I've paid up to $100 for full grooms and usually about $60 to get them shaved down a couple times a year - up until about a year ago when a friend started grooming and now does mine at her house for $20 and I generally give her $30. I take them every couple weeks now. :D She wants the practice and I love no in-between grooming on my part!
3 different states,160 each was average cost. we always get scissored, never clippers, when we go which can make a big difference.

I just (literally ...still wet) gave mequpak a bath and yuki gets hers tomorrow since we're going on a trip next week, but we've got another trip in march, so probably then!

rdf, that sounds like a great deal and if I had someone like that... that sure would make my life easier (for bath and brush out). When it comes to big grooming though, I'm VERY picky!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
WOW...JO...I'm glad I live where I live....I just too Heart in for a 3 inch hand scissor..for $80.00. Just a wash/blow/brush is $45.00 but....$25.00?????? Great deal!!!! :D :D
Yeah I never understood why I seem to find the most expensive groomers. :/ ...but I know when I do need one, it's b/c the work is too much for me and I need a break so anything is worth it!!!!!!!!!!!! The price is with tip. We've paid (w/tip) as low as 140. I only go when they need a lot of work (never matts but scissoring), ...otherwise I do the grooming. We're talking once a few times a year. It's been more for Mequpak but I was pregnant and didn't want to do it.
Wow, what a great deal! Wish I could find a coupon like that. Bath, brush, nails for us is $40.
The prices I quoted were NOT with tip....I am generally, overgenerous with tipping~~~ because I know what it is like to take your pup in with specific instructions only to pick them up not knowing IF you have the right dog!!!!!!

Years and years ago, I took Millie, my beardie in for a skirt trim and general cleanup to a respectable groomer in the area. I was quoted a price of $120.00 ((mind you this dog NEVER had 1 mat on her and was gorgeous with her long hair, parted down her back!))...BUT, like you I was willing to pay whatever since it was the only time I had taken her anywhere. Dino picked her up and was fuming as he walked in the door with my 'skinned' beardie!!!! He left after dropping her off and came back with a almost 'bald' head, stating to me that he felt so bad for her, he went to great clips and got the same 'do'.....

As luck would have it, we had a dinner party at my bosses house that evening and I had to keep explaining to everyone why Dino was sporting a military haircut!!!!!!

After that, I learned to be VERY picky with who touches my dogs, and I have been very lucky to find great groomers at reasonable prices.... :D

Val, you once posted about how often you get Heart done professionally, and I was like "she must be RICH!" To have Tonks and Luna each done, wash brush and blow dry is $120 per dog. If they need serious de-matting, its an extra $25 an hour. I try to drop them off mat-free. If I could find a place that did all that for $45? I'd probably have the girls in WAY more often!

I used to wash/dry/brush once every 2-3 weeks going to Wag n Wash the self dog wash. (about $20 each...) But when Laurie died (the owner) I just started takingt them once a month to a regular groomer, I was very lucky to find two...one for regular grooming and one that knows how to trim OES's.....

Also, since they are therapy dogs, and they have to be clean for the program, I deduct all of the expense as part of my charitable contributions, along with mileage, etc....... :D
Wow its pretty expensive here in Melbourne too.
It costs my Mom $70 for a clip, bath and dry and that's a mini poodle. 8O

I was quoted over $120 for a clip, bath and dry for Tiggy by a reputable groomer so I've always done it myself. Mind you I didnt really think that was too unreasonable as it takes me ages to get Miss Tiggy looking gorgeous. It was just that I cant afford that too often and I'd rather spend it on classes. :D
Just change the dollar signs to pounds here in Southeast UK 8O

I'm battling along learning from my mistakes rather than other people's. But I groom Ru twice a week so he's never matted. It's just that he's a very strange shape at the moment
the cost is why I'm determined to be able to do it myself. But with two of them, and with them still in the transitional coats, its really quite hard...
Wow--it is interesting to see the difference in grooming costs in the different cities. I am really lucky with the grooming situation here. My groomer picks them up and brings them home and charges $60 per dog unless she has to spend extra time brushing etc. I typically send them every three weeks to keep them in good shape. They LOVE their 'spa' days and they love the groomer.
PICKS THEM UP AND BRINGS THEM HOME?!? 60 BUCKS?!?
good lord I need a new groomer.
I'd be afraid of what I'd get back for $25!
Oh no... trust me... as a first time customer, I AM! I don't plan on using them for anything major. Just typical stuff (ears, nail, trim around paws which I kno they can mess up but that would be easiest to regrow)
Also, since they are therapy dogs, and they have to be clean for the program, I deduct all of the expense as part of my charitable contributions, along with mileage, etc....... Very Happy
_________________wow i did not know that i can do this for duffy .. great i need all the help i can get
Gus's groomer charges $35 for the works: bath, brush, nail trim, ear check, glands, clip -- whatever. Gus has a standing appointment every month; he usually has a "puppy cut" maintained from April through August, then just a trim-up from September through March. Considering Gus is her only OES client, I think his groomer does a GREAT job. Hey, he's not going on a parade anywhere, and we're just happy he's clean and mat-free.
