Stuck in the closet

Every single day, Henry walks into the walk-in closet, turns around to come out and ends up nosing the door closed so that he is stuck in there He starts pawing at the door for someone to let him out. Every single day. It makes me think my sweetest boy has marshmallows for brains. I had thought his hip was shutting the door as he turned around but my BF was in there one time when it happened and he said that the door was closing when Henry walked forward into it to get out. Henry turned and looked at him like "now we're both stuck" and started pawing at the door for me to free them. Somehow, he didn't realize that BF could actually open the door for him.

Val, one thing to remember...all boys(dogs) have marshmellows for brains. Especially young ones.
now wait a minute!! 8)

but, that is incredibly funny!!!!!!
Phew I was glad to hear you can open the door from inside.

I read a story in the paper recently of a Mom who was stuck in a cupboard all day after her toddler pushed the door shut and she couldnt get out.

It was in the morning and she had to wait till her partner got home after work as no one could hear her yelling or the little boy crying. She said she was in a panic about what her son would get up to in the house without supervision.

and I'm thinking women who climb in a cupboard and let a toddler lock them in ought not to be reproducing... 8O
Good point!!!

Darn BYB, never test for congenital diseases and dont care about temperment or intelligence.

Oops pardon my political incorrectness.
Maybe he is playing a game - going in, then calling to you may be playful to him. Patch will occasionally venture into the closet or pantry but only with 2 paws with the back legs sticking way out behind her just in case she needs to make a quick get away from an evil grocery bag or leftover container that falls to the floor attempting to attack her.

Sheepie2 -
ah that is silly. cute too
I always commented to Mr. J on the lack of intelligence too when Yuki did that!!! Something along the lines of "if you're looking for your genius dog, she's stuck in the closet again." She was a pup then but has finally learned how not to get stuck!

This reminds me of the days she'd sit on the couch and just fall back over and over because she couldn't figure out where it ended and how much of her body she could have hanging over the edge.
 That is hilarious.

Maybe you can put something there to keep the door from closing all the way. Then he can use his muzzle to get the door back open. After he closes it first of course.

Summer came on the sofa last night for a cuddle, and she had her bum right near the edge. So of course when she had a scratch her bum slid off the sofa leaving her front half still on. If looks could kill I am sure she thinks it was my fault. Son had to come over and push her bum back on!
Too funny....(((poor boy!!!))) :D :D :D :D :D :D

(when Heart was younger and she went into the basement with me for the first time, I came back up, not reallizing she wasn't behind me. I started doing something, and heard her loudly crying..I went down and there she was sitting there, yowling....Obviously, she didn't kow where the stairs were and SHE got LOST!!!!!....   )) gotta love 'em!!!!! :D :D
This is a good selling point for sliding doors on a closet. Mine are always packed so full that my dogs couldn't get in anyway!
Maybe you should have named him R. Kelly.

Or Rock Hudson.

(too obscure?)

Hey, if you put one of those wedge door stoppers to hold the door open (and he doesn't decide it is a toy) you could find out if it is being done on purpose or accidentally. Or prevent another closetted sheepie. :-)
That is funny!!
