Iams Gravy

I bought some of that Iams Gravy stuff tonight, the roast beef flavor for puppies. That stuff smells NASTY.
Ewwwwwwww gross. Blech. Yuck. Disgusting.
I put just a tiny bit on the dogs food, and Dancer seems to like it, but Sky is looking at me like "What did you do to my food?!"
Ugh.... I cannot get over how bad it smells, and how unbelieveably strong it smells! Wow.... I don't even want to know how it's made or what is in it.
They should sell it as a diet aid, appetite suppresant.

Iams gravy is made of select random cuts of possom, racoon & deer wat eve they find on the road. No I'm just teasing. I kept my neighbors ooooold dog and it made him want to eat.
We used homemade chicken broth (with the fat skimmed off)
for our first sheepie. Worked very well and he needed a small amount
over the kibble.
I've used bottled people gravy and they like it , about 1 TB is all they get. I've never tried Iams and won't now that I know how bad it smells. I used to gag when I opened cat food.
Oh this is waaaaaay worse than cat food.... the dogs didn't even eat it, and I thought Dancer liked it because she was nibbling at it last night, but what she did was pick all the pieces out that had that stuff on them and flicked them out of her crate. She didn't even want it near her let alone eat it. LOL
Same here. Truman thought I was trying to poison him. I blamed it on Riley.........the cat!
I used to give Harley Vit-A-Gravy... He loved it and it didn't smell bad.
I think my husband even tried it.. YUCK! He said it wasn't bad.
I gave him all the different varieties and he loved them all. He wouldn't eat his dinner without it. Once we switched foods he seemed to enjoy eating his dinner...ever without the gravy!!

WOW!!Im shocked at your experience w/ iams gravey.i do however think the smell is very strong, but I dont find it to be a nasty smell.the vita gravey has a chicken flavor and that too me is YUCKY smelling, but my boys love it.Even Mr.picky(jagger) loves it and it has helped tons to keep his weight on.Isnt it funny 4 differnt people can use the same product and those same 4people will have differnt opinions?? I think the home made chicken broth sounds yummy also, maybe Ill give that a try for the boys.Good idea!!
Yeeks! Bad smells are not too welcome around here! lol Mopsey is sooo spoiled! She eats people food mixed in her bowl, and loooves chicken soup, bread and butter, and hot dogs. Little girl isn't so little anymore! She is 65 lb now, and still growing. She can wrestile me to the floor in one jump! lol
Yay! Welcome back Marley! I'm so glad to see you posting again, we've missed you and Mopsey! I can't wait to see new pics of her :)
I've seen the Iams gravy at the store and wondered about it. I feed my puppy Iams large breed puppy food dry and he eats it just fine. Does the gravy add extra nutrients, or is it just to make the meal more satisfying, although if it smells as bad as everyone says, maybe my puppy would run the other way! Maybe this is something an older dog should have? THanks everyone!
Thanks for the warm welcome back, Willow! I sent Ron pics and he was nice enouph to agree to post them for me. I just dont seem to get this pic posting thing right!
I don't like any Iams/Eukanuba products, personally. They want you to feed their food, and yet they want you to also feed their gravy which (supposedly) has lots of vitamins and minerals....so the dog isn't getting those vitamins and minerals out of just the food? Their food? And they abuse their test animals...check out peta's site and I'm sure you'll see it.
In the last week I have been switching my puppy Max to Nutro large breed puppy food because it doesn't have by-products, I noticed Iams has the by-products. Anyway he is tolerating just fine, I'm giving him half of each for another week, then I'll increase the Nutro. I feed him dry and have never had to add liquid or gravy.
I usually just add our food lefovers into Mopsey's bowl...she loves it! I have to say, personss, your little pup looks just like Mopsey did when she was one! The same black ear and cute little face! :D
Max and Mopsey do look a lot alike! LOL Cute....
I'm thinking the leftoever people food is the best way to go too, what is more natural than that? No by products, except hotdogs maybe...lol... and you *usually* know exactly what you are giving them.
