It is. That was only his third time to see Brian but he was so happy to see him again. It is one of my favorite pictures. This morning I when I heard what day it was I asked him "Can I have a hug?" and he immediately gave me one. Then I said "Give Daddy a hug" and he went over to hug Tim. |

Eggbert gives hugs too (Ill have to get a pic to post  ) and I must add a word of caution here ...now that we have encouraged it, Bert has taken to hugging everyone he meets!  Um, that includes the poor guys who've been coming out to work on our roof, the UPS delivery guy, random strangers in Petco, you name it!  We are now working on making sure he only does it to a command, and otherwise keeps his paws to himself!

I started thinking about it this morning after we asked for hugs that he doesn't do it spontaneously as much as he used to. I realized it is because we trained it out of him. 
But he does recognize that if I throw open my arms wide without saying anything that I want a hug and he runs to give me one. |
