American Idol

Y'all know you wanted to talk about it

...except I really don't have anything to say about it but I'm trying to get people to post.

I did love that after Cowboys lost (I cried  ) ...that Brett and his team sang Pants on the Ground in the locker room. Bwahaha!

I usually watch it, but this season I don't see it happening (or any series on in the evening.) My work schedule and dog class schedule rules that out. What day is it on - I may have to record it.....
Tues/Wed at 7 central time I think... Well I know it came on last night but I am not close to a tv to check if tonight is the second night it airs. We just like the auditions, but I know so many people on here love the show. I may watch if the seasons is good, and Ellen, but we usually get bored after Hollywood.

Yes, I love the auditions too - even the "painful" ones! I may record one episode and then see if I can get into it.
I just found out my conformation student isn't coming tonight (freezing rain/snow happening here), so I am off after I get done with work at 7pm. I am show training a 9 month old fawn great dane pup - what a big baby!! I meet his owner at the classes and work him - and work myself in the process. 8O We are having fun though
My husband and I are watching. How'd ya like the Jersey girls last night? Not much talent but I think they were put through to Hollywood for their entertainment/drama value.
I agreed with Simon on which one was better. My husband liked the other one.

I think there were a lot worse let by just for entertainment value ...such as the guy who did all those noises.
Shania Twain is BEAUTIFUL and funny. I thought she was a great judge this week for tryouts. They should hire her permanently!

Second that!
What about the guy that did the split and then split his pants?
avril lavigne was the worst judge i've seen on there. ...asking about the guy's kids with an ugly face and how he'd handle traveling b/c like I'm a rockstar and it's hard? Just do your job and worry about his singing fool-lio.

Even though Kara is saying there was no feud, I felt Katy was the guest ...so for one day shouldn't have had any trouble getting along with someone. ...so I fault Katy. I like the chick a lot, but she rubbed me the wrong way last night.

Oh, I like Avril too ...just not as a judge.
And what was with that weird Meatloaf-singing guy? 8O
What was that with Dougie House/Neil Patrick Harris? He was taking over!
Have to wonder how the permanent judges felt about that.
Katy Perry was a pain.
Shania Twain was my favorite guest judge so far (and I'm not even a fan of her music).
We try to watch it but, the show has just lost so much of it's luster ever since they rejected the great William Hung following his stirring rendition of "She Bangs" way back in the day.
I just can't watch it anymore. Debcram out...............................
I'm addicted.
Is it just me, or are they really hamming up the hard-luck stories this year? Granted, a couple of the contestants have had it tough, but as for eg. the girl whose Grandma has Altzheimers.... man that just felt expolitative...

Agree. I never watch the auditions. Are they down to the ten or twelve yet??
That's a part of why people watch and what helps the ratings. I actually love hearing the stories, but agree... a lot of these people seemed to have made it through to "simon/randy/kara's audition" because of their story. I think the auditions are the best part. For me, it's boring from this point on. It gets better when it's down to the top 12.
Top 24 - live shows this week. Here in Blighty we get the shows a dayor so late, for obvious reasons... I still only thinks theres 4 or 5 worth watching... :)
We thought all the girls were better than the boys at this point. I like so many of the girls and agreed with all the comments about bad song choices and finding who you want to be as an artist.
I think they intended on making sure one of the girls wins this year...

As for the guys, some were good in auditions but just sucked the last show or two.

As for the girls there are a few that I think are really good.
I'm a huge Idol fan but I'm having a hard time getting into it this year. I don't know how some of the top 24 got there especially the guys. I agree, it does look like they are wanting a girl to win this year. Hayley, the girl who sang the Hannah Montana song has been awful every week. She is cute and has a pretty smile but she really can't sing! I think we were spoiled last year w/the great talent.
Usually by now I've been able to narrow down the top 3 and have been pretty accurate, not this season. There was so much talent last year that this year has been a big disappointment so far. Cross fingers things get better.
So far my favorite is Crystal Bowersox...

Anyone else think Katelyn Epperley looks a lot like Meg Ryan?

I don't know why but I just don't like Katie Stevens...
I got goosebumps watching Crystal last night. there are a few girls I like, but she's the one I hope takes it all. She needs the money to fix those teeth.

And I personally don't think Kateyln looks like Meg Ryan ;)
I like Chrystal Bowersox as well so far. I'm really not too impressed with any of them. I told my hubby I think I may take a break for the next two weeks...he does, however, enjoy watching so I'm sure I'll be watching right along with him.
Crystal is still definitely my favorite... I can see her winning and doing really well, whether she wins or not actually.

What's up with her though? She made it into the top 12 but seems kind of emotionless about it?
I dislike garcia

Mr. J and I were stunned to see Lacey get the boot. She was one of our favorites. LOVED her background which was surprising b/c it just wasn't what you expected.

Like Michael Lynche's personality, but he's starting to drop down in talent.

Tim Urban gets a lot of teen votes. He's cute! ..but not a good singer!!

Siobhan Magnus is awesome!!! ...but someone seriously needs to help her or get her to listen more in the guidance of her wardrobe. She is a dork.

I like katie, crystal, and casey still.
I didn't see last night's episode last night, so I can't comment...

Just found out though that PAIGE lives down a few STREETS from me in the same neighborhood!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Holy WHAT?!

So even though she has no chance in winning and probably leaving tonight... GOOOOOOOOO PAIGE!
I don't care what the judges said ...I want Michael Lynche to go home. Tim too, but Michael is so... I just don't think he'd be successful like the rest.

Crystal did great! She's really coming out of her shell.

I liked that young brunette chick last night ...her name is escaping me. She also looks like she's losing a few pounds. She looked sexy ...and I was glad Kara made a point to say something about this is the first time she's looked good.

I'm tired of Ellen's commentary. I love her to death, but she isn't useful at all. :/
Ellen is just so wrong for this show....

She annoys me. On her own show fine, but I don't get how they could have thought she'd make a decent judge.

I haven't watched a single episode that had Ellen on it. Joan and I watched early in the season expecting to see her (and truthfully, just to see her on the show) and we were disappointed she wasn't on.

When did she show up? What's wrong with her, too easy or just unknowledgeable. Or both or something else?
She is both. Maybe more on the doesn't know crap about vocals, and what "you were pitchy" means when she says it. Randy is usually dead on, Kara knows what she's talking about though she may repeat herself every week and a lot of what she says seems to be just to hump on Simon's back ...but when they get to Ellen, it's like "you were good" or "you were bad" with a glance at the audience for them not to boo at her. She's just sad on there. ...from the person who watches Ellen religiously.
