Tennis Elbow

Does anyone out there have tennis elbow or tendonitis? I've had it for a couple of years. I had pt a couple of years ago and it really helped. It has come back full force and it keeps me awake at night. Any suggestions?

Thanks
Lisa

Dig out your PT exercises & start them up at home. My PTs always give me copies (pictures) of the exercises so I can do them at home. Have had PT for knees, ankles, tennis elbow, IT (or is it IP?) band, cracked disc, rotator cuff etc. etc. etc. 8O 8O I keep the papers in a folder & when things start to act up I dig them out & start them up again at home. I also have a gel pack that wraps around my arm just below my elbow. Can be used iced or heated in the microwave depending on the situation. I guess it tricks the tendons into thinking they can reattach at that point & it ends up working. .
Mine is from grooming dogs... I actually broke my left arm while brushing a dog once. The Dr wanted to put it in a cast but I refused because I had a show that weekend, the national specialty so not just any show, and my arm hasn't been the same since. Nerve damage to the ulnar nerve appears to be permanent so it's now like a permanent case of tennis elbow plus a numb little finger.

I actually won the open bitch class during one of the shows that weekend so I guess it was worth it LOL
Numbed the pain with rum and coke later  Good thing my dog was already trimmed.
I don't know if my ailment rises to tendinitis, but my arm hanging over the edge of the bed was exruciatiny painful in the AM. So I put a pillow between the edge of the bed and my arm so now my arm sort of stands up in the air but it doesn't hurt in the morning!
Are you sure its tendanitis and not carpal tunnel? I am a court reporter and after 30 years of it, I have all those ailments. But the one that keeps me up is the carpal tunnel. I describe it as...my arm falls asleep and wakes me up :? Is that what you're feeling?

There are special braces you can wear at bedtime that helps. I was never one to wear them so I guess that's why mine gets worse. There is also an operation they can do but from the people I know who have had it done, the carpal tunnel comes back.

Unfortunately what helps me is strong anti inflamatories and resting the arm, trying not to bend it. Not easy to keep your arm straight all the time!
I have had carpal tunnel surgery on both hands and trigger finger surgery on one hand. So there both just messed up in general. It's so hard to lie flat on you back and sleep. I'm a side sleeper, and my Pt told me thats the worse thing to do. Oh well I guess it's something you just have to live with. I tried icing and heat last night. Didn't help
