Obedience Trial Question

Wondering if anyone has suggestions?

I have a 3 year old male. Started puppy classes at 12 weeks. I've been the obedience trial route and did achieve a CD on my first OES. So we started with little things early on.

He was very ill as a puppy and actually until recently. Nervous stomach issues and other things. At this point he does very well with training BUT poops every time he is in the ring 8O I can walk him five minutes before and sure enough, poop while we are heeling.

I stopped doing formal group classes and stopped doing matches thinking if it gets him so nervous, it isn't for him. My trainer been great but every time we start him in a group class again...POOP!

Any suggestions...or do I just chalk it up to a sport not for us????

well you could do what I do with Morgan - when he is well enough. we take private and semie private lessons, and we practice ALOT. The practice is wonderful for him as an activity but whenever I start thinking trial he gets sick.

I am thinking we might try CPE this summer - if he can stay well enough for an agility remedial session
