Not sure how much more I can take

I know it doesn't sound like a big thing, but this morning I was petting Morgan and he has a tennis ball sized lump on his neck between his shoulder blades. It is either right where he had a very small cyst that burst or adjacent to it. This is his 6th (I think) cyst and he is only 4.

He has just barely recovered from the last pancreatitis episode the week before Christmas, although he doesn't quite have his appetite back yet (not that that is a bad thing for huge o boy).

Like I said - I know its minor, but when I felt it this morning (and it wasn't there a week ago) I really felt like I had been kicked in the stomach. He is a wonderful dog with a very stable personality, but every time I turn around it seems like he has yet a different issue going on. I can't train him anymore on a regular basis because I never know when he can go to class or not - right now I am doing semiprivate classes. Me and Dan and tow or three of our dogs (depending on how Morgan feels that day  ) And forget trialing, although as I told Kristine - he is the rain-man of obedience, such a shame.

well, thanks for letting me vent. We have (another) vet's appointment on Saturday (I couldn't take any more time off to go before work this week).

Maybe just drain the cyst instead of removal? yeah, they come right back up.

My OES are getting lumpy too. Yours is awfully young for all this.
Poor guy! :(

Marley is also 4 and has had three cysts drained in the past few months, so I can totally empathize. It's very frustrating that there's nothing you can do about them comin back.

the interesting thing is the two he had that were drained (instead of removed or burst) seem fine - they don't appear to be coming back at all.

Yeah he is also awfully young for the thyroid condition (been on a high med dose since two) and the last year or so with the pancreatitis and now liver involvement make him probably the most expensive dog I have ever had.
:(

I am sorry Kerry. It is so awful when they have medical issues and at such a young age.

:ghug:
oh bless that is a pain....hope he gets better perhaps it is just a bad patch xxx
ahhhhhhhhhh the poor boy.
Fingers and paws crossed for a simple solution. :plead:
Prayer's and best wishes.........
Kerry, have you ever tried adding milk thistle? It's cheap and does a good job of supporting the liver. I used it for Beau when he was on cancer meds.
Poor Morgan :(

I really was hoping he would have some good luck here pretty soon.

It is on our next Nature's Farmacy order - just need to get to payday

Actually i am feeling better about the liver counts since my Internet research has found considerable mention of pancreatitis causing high liver enzymes. I assume if we keep the pancreatitis under control ( magic wands anyone) we can help keep the liver enzymes down - since the liver is the one organ that regenrates we should be okay.

Now about the cysts......
Poor fellow. :(
