has anyone ever heard of a dog itching from stress???? My 8 year old has had episodes of itching ever since we got Bella 2 months ago. He has been to the vets for antibiotics, skin scrapes which were negative and a shot of steroids. My husband is convinced that Dexter is stressed with the new dog. He is only scratching before he goes to bed and will go until he is really red. I watch the dogs play together all the time and have made it a point to keep Dexter "the king" since he was here first. Any thoughts???  |

they can itch from the dry air in the house during heating season which seems to correspond to your episodes.
A humidifierand an anti itch moisturizing conditioner helps. |

| Could be a licking compulsion as well-out of bordom or stress. If you've checked out allergies, skin issues, etc., I wouldn't rule it out. |
