Agility Competition

OES rescue in Colorado Springs contacted me about volunteering for an agility comp the weekend of Feb 13th and 14th in Denver. I'm considering doing this because the OES rescue gets money for all the volunteers they have show up.

Never been to an agility comp much less helped out. So I'm turning to you all for advice. I think it would be fun. It would be better if Obe got go with me not do agility but just go.

Definitely go help. I have been doing it for years without ever competing. It is a great learning experience and unbelievably entertaining! :D
Oh, go! Watching is a stitch. For a lot of the jobs like bar setting and chute fluffing or even timing you have the added benefit of an excellent front row seat so to speak. Leash running keeps you moving, which is nice, and you still get to watch. Of course, being male and under 50, somewhat of a rarity, you may find yourself in the hot seat for heavier duty tasks such as course building.

Is Bette going to enter with ChaCha (Sybil's aunt, as it happens)? Even more fun when you get to watch an OES in action!

Kristine
I'm not sure if Bette is going to enter or not. That is who I'm suppose to talk to in the a.m. I'm assume (usually not good) Bette Green is whom you are referring to Kristine. The lady I spoke with today Jackie Slatter mentioned bar setting and the tunnel fluff.

So I take it I will be the youngest there...No screaming hot chicks????
lol, Kristine implied you would be the youngest MALE. There usually are plenty of chicks.
Yes, and many of whom are indeed screamingly hot. It's quite disgusting! I remember when the vast majority of the competitors were post menopausal and mobility challenged. Lately I'm noticing more and more tooth pick blond chicks whom I question are even legal to drive themselves there, but apparently are.

Not something I'm seeing in obedience or breed for sure!

Kristine
And, yes, I meant Bette Green.

Kristine
lol...watched a movie over the weekend and that was a line from one of the actors.

Why? That's what we are!   Or close to it at any rate.

I look at some of those 15-20 year olds (or whatever) and think, ah, to have started back then...

Of course, I'm not sure agility had been invented yet :lmt: Or at least just barely

Kristine
I called Bette and told her I would volunteer for Saturday the 13th. She seemed really nice and mentioned that someone would train/show me what to do. Yes she is going to have Cha Cha there competing.

Excuse me, that's post menopausal, mobility challenged and increasingly mentally failing...........My friends and I would appreciate our proper title.
