Aggressive behavior

I just rescued a Sheepie who turns a year on Christmas, and our first Sheepie, Sammie who is 2 1/2 years old, is being VERY aggressive when it comes to milk bones, or rawhides. Other small treats I give to them when they do their business don't seem to bother Sammie. This past time I let them out, I gave them their usual small chewy treats each, Link first and Sammie second, it was fine, so I tried a SMALL piece of milk bone for each, and as soon as I gave Link his piece, Sam FREAKED OUT and attacked him. I broke it up and did not give Sam his piece. Should I continue to try with the milk bones or just give up on those and go with what works? I have been given some great adice in regards to making a noise when Sam looks like he is gonna start something, and that seems to have worked.

I wouldn't give them anything that seems to trigger the resource guarding issue, until you work through it with him.
THat is what I was thinking.. its so weird that the chewy treats are ok, but milk bones not so much....
