Dogs Dreaming

Last night my friends and I were talking about whether or not our dogs have actual thoughts - we decided that they did since the dream...what do you guys think?

This is an interesting article about dreaming in pets and how it's very similar to humans. The other day I woke up to Emmie moving her paws around in her sleep - have you caught your dog doing that?

Yup - All the time  Watching those big paws moving around is quite a sight. My husband calls it 'herding squirrels'.
My dalmo is the funniest he twitches his paws and growls and makes little yipping barks in his sleep. My gran always said they are "chasing rabbits"

The dalmo also sucks in his sleep. Maybe he's dreaming of the good old days of puppyhood. :D
All three of my girls dream...they bark, they make other strainge noices and their little (?) paws run like the wind. It i is really cute to watch them.
Chauncey will rarely do this, or at least that we know of. He gets warm during the night and gets out of bed and lays on the floor. Jake our OTB Lab did this almost nightly, the movement didn't bother me, but he would also pant in his sleep when he was dreaming which would wake me out of a dead sleep.
I think it's so cute when they dream! have you seen that funny video of the dog who is running in his sleep and gets up (still asleep) and runs into to the wall? it's one of those videos that makes you say "aw" but is still sort of funny ;)

Yes - it's funny and painful to watch, all at the same time!
I love watching Patch dream while she is chasing those killer squirrels who are invading our turf! Occasionally, in the middle of the night while sleeping on her back with all fours in the air dreaming she hits the wall or door so hard it sounds like the house is under attack - I have to yell to her to wake up so I can get back to sleep - LOL.
