I need coat suggestions!!!!

Aggg! Aggie ate my coat. She decided that it was a stuffie and needed destroyed. Even though I was frustrated at her for doing it
I was already planning on getting a new one. The old one was white, which is not a good color for doing chores in, and had a hood
along with being water proof.

I've been looking for a new coat but can't seem to find what I want. I HAVE to have a hood on it because I DETEST getting rain on
my head  . I would like it to be water resistant along with somewhat tough so I can do chores in it. Also not in white or a light
color so it will hide dirt a little better :D . But I don't want to look like some shapeless blob in a mommy coat. Does anybody have
any good suggestions? :plead:

Are you looking for something warm, like a winter coat? Or more in the vein of a heavier raincoat?
Either would be okay with me. :)
EddieBauer.com Great selection of coats, especially for chores.
I like coats. A lot. I have over 25 winter coats and the only reason that I don't have more is because there's literally no more room in the closet and James gets really cranky when his single coat won't fit. He's such a baby.

Are you doing, like, heavy farm chores or just going out to get the garbage can? Here's some medium wear suggestions.

Anyway, I was considering this as a good, functional but cute winter coat that would be good to hang out with the dogs in.

This one is less bulky, but has a waterproof shell:

I have a few Michael Kors coats and I really like the fit. He knows how to fit a woman's body so even big puffy stuff never looks dowdy. Another coat that I like but don't need.

I probably should've asked, do you want it short, medium or long?
Bleck, another day shopping for a coat and nothing was right. All either to dressy, no hood, or made me look like a giant blob. Even Lee agreed on the giant blob part so I wasn't being to critical. I've been to a lot of stores now.

Thanks for the link ButtersStotch. I've never known someone who had as many coats as you. I had to chuckle at that. My sister had over a 100 pairs of shoes at one time. Me, I just have underpants I collect. I have a weakness for them  . I like that Michael Kors coat but I am looking for a medium length. Mostly it will be to do light chores in.

I looked at a lot online and here is a list of ones that I found. But now I don't know which one to chose from. Lee likes them all. Who thinks what is cute????? Lee would like me to get more cute clothes  as he says I go toward more dressy (even though I don't think so) and looser fitting (which is true). Recently my sister was cleaning out her closet and sent me home with a bunch of post pregnancy shirts (she has gone back to her tiny self). I didn't think they would fit as I have always been bigger than her. Yeah, her old DD bra fit and lee is beside himself with glee  and all the shirts are tight on me. Groan. You know what he says? "I should send you shopping with your sister more as all these shirts are cute". So since I tend to be the dowdy one I guess in a bunch of fashionable sisters I guess I need some help!!!!

This one is plain but looks like it would be really tough.

Lee liked this one but I think it was because it had the name McGyver in it. I'm not sure how flattering it would be?

Would the next 4 hold up to an armful of firewood?

This one should be really waterproof.

These couple from Eddie Bauer (thanks sheepdogma) are also okay.

I hate to tell you this, but I think you need to step it up to 2 coats. One unattractive chores coat and one coat you can wear out without having chunks of firewood stuck to it but will also brave bad weather. That way you'll make yourself and your husband happy. ;)
Hmmm, I think you may have a good idea there. You are officially brilliant ButtersStotch!!!

I think I have decided on the very plain tough looking one for chores. Definitely not a sexy
cute coat that gets you ravished in the chicken coop :) .

That now leaves me trying to find a cute around town coat. ARGGGG! I hate this sort of shopping. I really
liked the below coat but they don't have it in my size.

So now I am still stuck trying to find a cute feminine coat that has a hood on it. I think my problem is
I always give up when I can't find what I want in my size and just go for "okay". Which is annoying when what
I want is, "Damn that's cute!" So since the plain work coat is figured out any suggestions now on a feminine, with a hood, mid length coat?
Well, your coat search made me cave again and I bought the stupid Michael Kors one that I posted. I'm going to have to give a couple of my other ones to my sister!

What size are you? I'll keep looking, too. Did you look on overstock.com? I just bought a super cute coat there last week. The prices are always pretty reasonable, too.
Last fall Target had really cute jackets - with hoods too!
I haven't checked this year......I have too many jackets/coats too - Todd would die!
HAHAHAHA ButtersStotch, that is way to funny. Maybe what you need is a bigger closet. Like those amazing ones that all the celebrities seem to have in their houses. You could give James his tiny spot and then the rest would be yours.

When I was trying on coats in the store it seemed that I ran a medium size in the ladies section. I haven't looked at Overstock yet so I will check that out.

got sheep, somehow I seemed to have missed that store when I was out and about shopping for coats. I will have to swing by and see what they have.

It's my dream to have a huge suite where there's a gigantic room with those floor to ceiling shoe shelves on all four walls and the vanity in the middle. Someday...

Definitely check Target out. They've always got cute stuff and it's always reasonable.
