New Moon

I just got back from a midnight showing of New Moon and if anyone else is a Twilight freak like me, I think you'll really like it. It was a really good adaptation of the book and all of the boys have a lot of trouble keeping their shirts on. The amount of gasping and squealing in the theater was actually comical. The ending is a little different than the book but it stops in a good place.

I was quite surprised that I was nowhere near the oldest person in the theater, either. :D

Yep...I am a die-hard Twilighter!! I was also at the show at midnight to see it. I thought it was awesome....and yes, alot screaming went on when the shirts came off...well actually, they seemed to always be off :D I had to drive to a different city to see it. All theatres were sold-out.....and all the people there...it was just amazing! Can't wait until the next one!

I still must say the books are better. Jill, did you know there is another book after the last one? You have to go on Stephanie Meyers site to read it though. It is basically the whole story through Edwards eyes. I have not been able to read the whole thing since you actually have to sit at the computer to read it (it wont allow you to print it)
I have not been a fan of the movies, but as most of you know i am obsessed with the books. but its hard not to want to get int the visual world of Twilight thru the movies so i know i will end up seeing it. Our theater has been sold out all weekend since last week so it'll be a while!

Ya and that "book" is called Midnight Sun and its the story of Twilight thru Edwards perspective but its not complete b/c it got leaked and Stephanie didn't like that. But you should check out her site b/c she has excerpts from each of the 4 books that had to be edited out for one reason or another posted.

I read and enjoyed the books but haven't seen the first movie. A friend bought 6 $40 8O tickets for our group to attend the premier. It included some sort of preshow event and a Twilight backpack full of related stuff. I didn't get to go. :( All my friends have kids and I didn't want to expose them to the recent yuck I picked up on the plane.
I read the books - I liked them, but not any as much as the 1st one. I loved that one! For some reason the rest never measured up.

I'm not a movie person at all, so I won't see them, most likely. Especially if they aren't as good as the books.

Yeah, I wish she'd finish it and stop being such a baby about it.

They just sold the rights to make a movie out of The Host, too. I think that'll be kind of fun. There should be a lot of good scenery and effects if they throw some money at it.
I enjoyed reading The Host. It could be a good movie.
I'm going to see New Moon tonight with my daughter... can't wait! :)
Dave and I are going on a date to see it tonight... we rarely go to movies so I'm excited!

Good deal! I couldn't get James to go so I ended up going with a girl from work. James will read almost everything but he's taking a weird stance on not reading these books. He's really put off by the sparkling.
Wayne started reading my copies but said he had to skim and only read about a third of each one because nothing happens and he was bored.
I liked them and will see New Moon when things calm down at the theatres here. :D
My favorite from Stephanie has been The Host, and that saying a lot. I don't really know how a movie will be good cuz i just like it better in my head than the big screen, which is weird b/c i am a movie fien (sp?)

Still debating on seeing New Moon this weekend. i have friends going tomorrow, so i may not be able to resist if there's a ticket available. From what i have from people i know they said its a lot better than Twilight as far as convinceability of the actors to pull off the roles.

It was. The acting was better and, overall, it was a better adaptation.

We were laughing at all the weird combinations of people in the theatre; father/son, adult women, lots of high school girls, little kids with parents etc. I think there was only one weird guy by himself, which kind of surprised me.

So our verdict is that we really liked it. Things like the sparkling(haha), all the weird running that Jacob did, and the awkward fantasy sequences with Bella and Edward had us and most of the theatre laughing, but we still really liked it.

Oh, and Dave and I are totally team Jacob.
We couldn't see it. My daughter lined up at 6:15, the line up went around the block ALL the way and then some, filling parking lots behind the building etc. The theater has never sold tickets for anything early, they sold out for the 7pm show within minutes and then people stayed lined up for the 9:30 pm show and it was sold out too.
ok I just ordered the first book for my kindle. it is good? i hear from so many that it is worth reading. so i will try it.
