Is there hope?

Ever since Asterisk came to our home at 8 weeks, she has this habit of burying her treats in the sofa corners. It was not uncommon to wake up and find a plush toy and a pig ear or dog treat on your chest.

She did this daily until we got Wendel. She stopped hiding her treats and would wolf them down so he couldn't get any.

A few days ago, she started to hide her treats again. Within 5 minutes, she started to cry because Wendel took her treat from the cushions and began to eat it.

Today at lunch, I gave them both a treat and Wendel eats his, Asterisk tries to bury hers.

What can I do? Is there anyway to let her have her little fun with burying her treat to get it later? Or do I just have to admit defeat and let Wendel grab hers?

I cannot help but I did laugh. Sorry. If one of mine drops the treat for a minute, the other has it. then the whining begins.
they have to work it out on their own. I raised two together and went throught the same thing. If its important enough to her - she will let him knwo its hands (or mouths :) ) off

Isn't it terrible though? I feel so bad for her! Poor baby!
OH.. Erin...I have to laugh too!!! Poor Asterisk~~~ and that devil Wendel...

It does remind me of a 'test' I gave Heart ..you know, to see how smart they are????

Hide a treat under a towel and see how long it takes for them to figure out a way to get it??? Well,,It took Heart a very short time to decide to take the towel..but then she would walk over to the area rug and drop it....by the time she got back to where the treat was???? Cosmo had eaten it. And there Heart was , sniffing the ground and the look on her face was like~~~""What the heck??? I know it was here when I picked up the towel......""

FYI...I repeated the test about 4 times, thinking she would realize what she was doing wrong...but she didn't... 8O 8O 8O
I feel for you! We have the same problem! I give them each a biscuit before I leave for work. Bella, the younger one, gobbles hers up as if she never ate before...Bowie, the older one, likes to eat some and drop leave some for enjoyment later...Never gets the chance. bella is right under his mouth munching anything before it even hits the ground!

What I do sometimes is one behind the kitchen gate and they both get their cookies, eat in peace and then get togeher again

But I do feel bad because the older one looks up at me like, MA, she took my cookie....
Morgan holds his in his mouth and stands in line like he never got one - as if I can't count to two!!! He also always looks surprised that I figured it out.
Chauncey wants his treats delivered to his bed
He will walk to the kitchen door, look at me, then go lay on his bed awaiting his cookie. Nope, nope...not spoiled at all
Poor Asterisk! I can just see the whinning too, accompanied with the look that conveys "Mo-om! Da-ad! Wendel ate my treat! I need another one!" ;) So cute, but I feel bad for her. I can imagine it's like watching your sibling eat dessert, and choosing to save yours for later, you put it in the fridge. Except when you go into the kitchen to get it, there your sister/brother is, at the table eating your dessert! The nerve!

I hope they can work it out so everyone gets a treat.
the poor thing!! :(
sheepieshake  I tested Molly as well and dang she can count. I put six treats in my pocket, over a short period of time she had five and would not take no for an answer when I told her they were all gone. She continued to nuzzle my pocket for the last one and then left me alone

Luna does this with her breakfast! Some mornings she looks at her bowl, then goes and lies in bed, looking from her bowl to me. Of course, i bring her the breakfast in bed; I live to serve. But if I try to take her dinner in bed? She looks at me like I'm crazy.
