HOW BIG WILL HE GET?

We had Beau our OES puppy for 3 mounht's+. At 8 weeks he weighed 10lb. and is averageing 2.5 to 3lb per week. what we need to know is at what age will he stop growing, 6 months or one year? We also have a medium 2 year old pound dog, and the get along and play all the time. Buddy seams to hold his own even with size differeance. Thanks for the help. David in Arkansas

This has been very much the subject of debate over the last week or so on the OES-L. The conclusion most of us came to is that, just like with us humans, the adult sheepie's weight and hieght can vary quite a bit! (as can speed of growth)

I think the largest dog who's owner mailed the list, was 30" at the withers and weighed in excess of 100 lbs!

Apparently it's best that the dog grows as slowly as possible, to minimise problems with joints etc. as they grow. Obviously there's only so much one can do about this (ie. not overfeeding etc.) Woof is six 1/2 months old - he already weighs 63 lbs.......

Aargh! 8O
THANKS MIKEYG, FOR THE INFORMATION. BEAU IS ON TRACK TO BE ABOUT THE SAME SIZE AS WOOF. I'VE BEEN TOLD BY SEVERAL PEOPLE (NON OES OWNERS) THAT HE WILL NOT STOP GROWING UNTIL HE'S ONE .
