Can I stop Feeling Guilty Now?

I've spent the last year getting random attacks of guilt, usually when Bally is being particularly sweet and cuddly. Next February we're going over to India for 3 and a half weeks to get married, leaving my poor puppy behind :(

I spent months agonising over what to do with him. I work at home, so we're usually together all day and he's never been away from us for longer than two nights. Usually it wouldn't be a problem and I would just leave him with my parents on their farm (he goes there almost every weekend with us anyway and is very at home), but because they'll be coming with us too, we can't do that.

There was no way I was having him locked away in some noisy, unfamiliar kennel only to be let out for walks. Finally I found this website http://www.doggypause.com.au/Dog%20Boarding.html and contacted the woman in charge. She runs her boarding from home and never has more than eight dogs at a time, so she basically treats them as one big pack in her home.

I'm so happy now! Willo is really sweet and we've already had Bally in with her and the other dogs for a day to familiarise him, and after the initial shock of meeting other dogs that actually wanted to play with him for once, he settled straight in. Her place is really secure and the neighbours were all popping their heads over the fences to chat about OES. all the dogs have to go through a trial day to make sure they can get along in a group, and despite the amount of running and playing going on, it was so quiet... really well behaved dogs. Bally has already made friends with a 7 month old Weimaraner who will be boarding at the same time as him

Phew! :phew: I'm still going to feel terrible leaving him, but I know it will be one sided and he'll be way too busy to miss us!

Anyway, I just had to let out all that relief  Now I can't start looking forward to the wedding instead

Looks very nice...you should go and have a blast your Bally
looks as if he will be cared for...

I pet sit for an old lady OES and her family loves that she is
in my home and not in a kennel.

Don't feel bad, have fun, Bally will be fine..... :P
Looks great!!!

You're right Bally will have so much fun he'll barely miss you but I bet he'll be over the moon to see you back as well.

My obedience instructor does home stay for up to 6 dogs.
She asks clients for a training wish list before they bring their dogs so the dog gets some training while the owner is on holidays. :D
