Clyde goes under the knife

All right, I guess that topic makes it sound more serious than it is but my little boy went in to get neutered today. I know everything should be fine but I'm all worried about him. I never carry my phone and I haven't put it down once-- even to go to the bathroom.

I know Stormi just went through this with Jack and Annabelle but I'm wondering what to expect when Clyde comes home and hoping some of you would be so kind to calm my nerves a little! Other than the anesthesia sickness, how much pain will he be in? Is it ok to take him for a walk in a couple of days? I'm so worried about him. I've been trying not to think about and that's why I didn't post anything earlier.

luv pepe
I haven't had my boy done yet, but I am sure your Clyde & Dougal will both be good as new in no time. I did have my two cats done last year and the male recouped in no time at all. In fact, just a few hours after he got home he was up & about like nothing ever happened. Hope it's the same way for your boys! :)
That's good to hear that boys are up and about soon. I think I mentioned this in another post but I rescued my other dog and she wound up going in to get spayed and didn't need it because it had actually already been done. She was miserable and in pain and it was just terrible. I guess that's why I've got that whole negative connoatation with the whole process.
I'm sure everything will be fine, we can't help but worry about our furkids though  Boys do heal so much faster than girls, it's a minor procedure for the boys, and major surgery for the girls.
I don't have real kids so my furry ones really are that to me-- that's why I worry so much...and, I suppose also the reason that I can't handle real ones. The worrying would kill me!
When our sheepie had his surgery, the Dr. gave him a long
acting pain med at surgery.

Adhere to the post op instructions they give you.
Keep the incision line clean and dry, watch for reddness , swelling,
or drainage. And keep him on a leash, they usually want quiet
exercise (no running) for 10-14 days after....

We wish Clyde a speedy recovery, he'll be back to himself
very soon!!!!
Thanks everybody for the well wishes. The vet just called and said he came through like a champ and is resting comfortably. Thank goodness! He has to spend the night there since that's their procedure but I'm so relieved. I can't wait to get him home again!
That's great news from the vet, he'll rest comfortably there tonight.
Clyde will be home soon, and back to full speed in no time !
Thank you for the update !
I am so glad your baby came through with flying colors. I know how much you must miss him, and a whole night too! :? Jack and Annabelle are starting to move a little more, but they are still sleeping a lot and eating very little. I can tell that it has been a lot easier on Jack, than it has been Annie.
I have thought about walking, but they still don't seem up for it. I think maybe tomorrow or Sunday, they might be ready for a short walk.
Clyde is in my thoughts and I look forward to hearing about him being home tomorrow. Please keep us updated about your big boy.

Hugs to Clyde!
Stormi and co.
Glad to hear everything went well. Hope his recovery is quick!
I'm going to pick him up in a couple hours. I can't believe how much I missed him. It was so quiet around here. Even our other dog, Lucy, who I thought would enjoy the peace and quiet for the night, kept going over to his crate and looking for him. Cute.
I bet he will be so happy to see you too... please let us know how he is doing :)
Well, we're home and doing great. Almost too good. If I didn't just know it happened, I'd never guess that he had surgery. He's so happy to be home and wants to play already. I had to confine him so we wouldn't hurt himself because he was already his same, crazy self, jumping all over the place and on Lucy, who also wants to play with him really bad. He's having a hard time understanding now why he has to stay in his crate, poor baby. I'm just glad he's good everything's fine. Now our new challenge will be keeping him calm until his sutures come out! Thanks again for all your well wishes!
