GIGI's last vet follow up visit for the surgery

Gigi was checked today by the surgeon. She shows no pain on manipulation and no limping. YEAH So now he says we can slowly get her off the leash and with her brothers and sister. Gigi is jumping around on the leash and pulls me. She is back! Now we need to get back to obedience training.

Hope her hair grows back fast. She wants to go to St Louis in May

Thanks to all for all your information and support!

Carol that is such good news on Gigi. I'm sure she has missed playing with her brothers and sis. Her hair will be beautiful by May.

Most excellent news!!!! :D :D :D :D :D
Wonderfull to hear Gigi is doing well and on the road to a full recovery.

Well done Gigi, just take care with her till she is back to her normal bouncy self, that is still watch her especially around the other dogs that she does nothing silly, like jumping madly or running around wildly and sharp turning or charging up and down steps etc. just for a while till her strength is back to normal with controlled exercises to help build her up again.

Let her free roam with the other dogs in the house so you have controll on her situation and still just let her outside on her own without the other dogs egging her on just for a few more weeks still, she can play outside on her own and be with the other dogs inside. Take her re-couperation carefully as you dont want any setbacks.
Yeah Gigi :cheer: Glad she is feeling better!

From my own experience, after my dog's injury, we started with her playing alone with us outside. Then little by little, she was able to play and run with my other dog. Started slowly, not in a large area, so she couldn't get up speed...a short time, and then rest. I'm sure your vet gave you guielines. Just don't over do it.

I know they say dogs will stop when they had enough. I have NOT had that experience! Mine will run into the ground unless I end it!
Yes I have her outside with me alone. She is soooooooooo happy to be off leash. Inside the others try to get her running around and jumping but I distract them and her with a toy or a treat. Gigi is doing very well and says thank you to all!
Well, just going from my own experiece, running and playing in the house doesd not get up the momentum that running outside does. However, if you have wood or ceramic floors, she could slip easily.

My puppy was getting over her pulled muslce, and was dojng fine, and started running with her brother outside. Comes in the house and they start playing and she slips on the wood floor and is now limping again! And by the way, her injury was back in the summer!

So be careful with the recovery and remember, slow and steady wins the race! Hope you continues on her road to revoery!!! And hey, the hair will grow...I tell myself that every time I get a hairuct I don't like
