WE have been swined...

John just called. He is on his way home from the ER. He has been swined....

Maybe that explains my horrible headache and sore throat today as well...

Best wishes for a speedy recovery. Rest, drink plenty of fluids, watch tv. Let yourself get over being sick--don't rush getting better.

I should add that the culture is still growing... but the doctor said it "Looks like a pig, and acts like a pig, so it is most likely a pig" :(
well don't assume untilt he results are in , could just be rotten Influenza A - which lasts much longer
pigs stink. I'm sorry you are being swined.

Was that supposed to make us feel better? :) Cause it didn't.
Bummer!
Hope you get better quickly.
That's awful! Tons of people in Boulder have had it. The cases are reportedly mild but everyone feels really crummy. I hope you feel better soon. . .
Go to bed and let it have it's way with you. Actually being swined wasn't as bad as the regular flu. No upset stomach and running to the bathroom. Instead you cough, sneeze, run a fever, and host a whopper of a headache. It will fake you out letting you feel good for a couple hours only to return with full intent of kicking your behind.

I'm on day 14 since dancing with the pig. I was over the initial flu symptoms within 5 days. However, because I was "pig headed" and didn't rest, I'm now dealing with bronchitis. My doc told me a follow up respiratory issue, bronchitis, phenomena, sinus infections, are extremely common with being swined.

So go to bed, read a book or catch up on movies. It's time well invested.
Sorry :0(
I hope the H1N1 doesn't share the love with all.

Ok-- herein lies my confusion...In our family we always refered to "The Flu" as aches and pains, chills, vomiting -- more stomach issues..

But this swine stuff they call the flu is more like what we call a cold. Sore throat, ear aches, headache, cough.

If this is the flu-- what is the stomach junk????
Technically flu or influenza is an upper respiratory infection with sore throat, cough, sometimes sniffles especially early on, temps, headaches, joint aches.

Often a similiar virus effects the gastrointestinal tract and is called gastric or stomach flu. Symptoms include nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, temps, headaches and joint aches.

I have read recently that particularly in children there are sometimes gastro symptoms with swine flu.

Both of them suck big time. Hope you're better soon.
Tamiflu does help. Hope you all got prescriptions.
That's terrible! Please tell us how you guys are doing and get better soon!
hope all get well soon! gee i have been fighting a sore throat, headaches and ear aches for a few days. no fever. could just be allergies, hope so. no pigs allowed here!
We think we were swined, well, at least we think the baby was swined over the weekend. Took her in Friday night and the flu test was negative, but the doctor said it was only 50% accurate.
when i was swined....i had horrible horrible aches...cough, and felt totally crappy..and i had a hard time breaking the fever....tamaflu is my new fav miracle drug!! it really helped!!!

feel better.....and dont leave home...my dr. confined me for 6 days...
wow, that really sucks. Hope you get to feeling better very soon
you should get some oinkment for that swine flu...hope you feel better.
Actually the swine flu is not as bad as normal Influenza.

More deaths world wide from just normal flu then the swine flu.

As long as your not elderly, pregnant, obese, have immune problems it is less problems then the normal flu.

Rest and get plenty of fluids, it shall pass.

Here there trying to immunise the whole population with the new swine flu vaccine, not many are opting for it as just hot off the press as they say and no one knows the longer term affects of this mass innoculation the government wants to do.

If I was a health care worker, elderly etc etc would probably get one maybe, but most cases here the swine flu was less drastic then normal influenza.

Few deaths here but normal flu takes more then the swine flu scare.
Oh trust me, the swine flu is JUST as nasty!! That is what i came home with from Expocan Mexico that went into pneumonia.......... I've never had such a headache nor joints hurt in so bad in my life.

You've got it, you'll know it.

Stupid -Stupid question... we can't pass this to Maxie Paws can we???
Feel better soon! On the plus side more time to be on the forum :)

I think you feel just as bad as normal flu.

Just medically speaking its not as bad as their are less deaths associated with swine flu infection compared to "normal" flu infection.
Feel better soon!! Being sick is the worst feeling, so I hope it passes quickly.

and no, you can't pass it ;)
