Furminator????

Has anyone have this and use it? Do you like , love or hate it? If you do recommend it where did ya get it? Do you trust EBAY?

The furminator isn't for an OES coat. It's for dogs that shed. You'd wind up pulling huge hunks of hair out on an OES that would not only be uncomfortable for the dog, but wouldn't really do anything. You can get rid of all all the dead hair that an OES loses just be regular pin brushing. If you want to take out undercoat, brush the whole body with a slicker or use a comb to remove it.
I agree with Jill. I use the furminator on my cats and it works wonderfully, especially on my tuxedo boy who sheds the most. On my OES, no way.
I agree too.
I use the furminator on my dalmo who sheds terribly but it wouldnt work on a sheepie coat.
Works like a dream on Harry, who is not OES. But then he has the perfect hair, longish with obvious undercoat that just jumps onto a brush when it's time. 30 minutes with him and his undercoat is all gone, plus he loves to be brushed. He's the guy on the right in the avatar.
Works beautifully on my brother's Golden Retrievers. They should BE the Furminator commercials.

But I wouldn't touch my dogs with one.

As for do I trust ebay - yes, I trust ebay as a site. I am conscientious when I buy things from there, read the listings in their entirety, build in the shipping charges to the maximum amount I am willing to pay, and make sure to check the sellers feedback and comments before committing.
Ditto, read the reports on the seller, watch shipping charges.....and don't lose your head. Set a price limit and that's it. I pay via PayPal account, not a credit card.
well thanks for all your comments. I took Holly to the groomer and she used a furminator , pin brush and a slicker on her. She said the furminator worked great on Holly and showed me how to use it and it did get that undercoat out rather well and Holly didn't seem to mind but like you I had never heard of anyone using it on their OES :lmt: what to do??
We were given terrible info from a pet store employee about needing a furminator when Sunny was a pup. She thought it was the bomb and recommended it to anyone with a fluffy pup. We bought one on ebay (thankfully didn't pay regular price!). I'm sure it's a great brush for other breeds, but it just cuts and tears the fur off of Sunny, so no matter how much you use it, it still gets chunks of fur out, but it's not fur that needs to come out! It doesn't help the shedding situation, because OES's don't shed in the first place! It's sitting in the grooming box, at the bottom, collecting dust. Lesson learned, don't get grooming advice from someone not experienced with OES's!
point well taken and I guess I will just continue as I am with Holly :D

No Furminator
As a groomer I would never, never get my clients with oes to buy a furminator there are not for these coats.

If you want a really good brush that takes ut the undercoat use the purple Les Pooches, I use the single and double and I can highly recormend them. Using these it takes my half the time as using a pin brush!
