Landseer Newfoundland World's Biggest Dog?

This is a week or so old, but loved the pic enough to want to post.

I think the bad thing about having a "world record" for any breed, is breeders striving to make their dogs even bigger or smaller and not giving a ratz about what this may mean to their health.

I love that the story is in a UK publication, but the dog is living in North Dakota - the state next to me!
Jo I have to say the Newf breeders I know or have met all are very coincerned about their dogs being too big. Of course when your dog weighs 170 pounds, too big is relative.

The funny thing about that dog si my husband - who is as undog savy as you can get - commented on how badly put together he looked. I am not sure you will find many people trying to replicate that dog.
That's a whole lot of slobber.
I've seen this before and wondered why you would take a picture of yourself kneeling next to a tall dog? I don't know how tall that woman is so I have no point of reference next to her. I don't think it is, but it seems fake in comparison to the other pic.
What a lovely dog....thanks for sharing!

:)
That stance is called cow hocked (and splayed), right?
oooo, look at that back paw turned out..........not good, not good. yeah, whole rear end looks bad. This guy is going down quickly, sure glad I don't have to lift his rear end up each.

Yup. Good eye, Ron.

Painful to look at.

I think what they are looking for is the length of the dog. When they are referring to the "tallest dog" they are thinking "if you stood him up on his hind feet".
I don't think he's real - trick photography 8O

What's not to love?

Since when did he become yours? Wasn't there this dude known as Marty...? I seem to recall pictures of the two of them? Titles...? :lmt:

I also wonder if he's the tallest OES in the history of the breed, but we'll probably never know that

He is still very much Daddy's boy!!!
They need to get back out there in that
ring and work on that RAE!!!
Things have just been so crazy lately....

Nope, I couldn't pry Marty's hands off that
"Daddy's Boy" title!
