I love my job, but....

I really love my job. I love the work I do, I love my boss, I love the hospital. But. A medical school in the area has an opening for a librarian position that intrigues me. I've met the library director and she is really cool. I'm so tempted to apply for the job. I guess it wouldn't hurt to send in my resume.....

Nope, you should always be trying to improve yourself.
It doesn't hurt esp. if there's an increase pay :) ...but it's very hard to beat good boss and people you work with. That makes or breaks any good job imo.
Never hurts to send it out - that and any ensuing interviews can be useful if something happens and you wan tto make a change.
I say apply.
Especially as you have been at the current job for awhile, right?

The experience (and associated stress - call it adrenalin!) of interviewing is wonderful. Networking with other potential employers is always good. Just the fact that it makes you dust off your resume and update things is a good thing!
You should apply.

If you get the job then you make a list of the pros and cons of each job and make a decsion based on that!

You can always turn it down if you decide to stay where you are now.
I wish good luck in what ever you decide
Paula, take it chance. You never know where it may lead! Good luck!
Go for it, Paula. If you don't do it, you'll always wonder.
