Well, this is a new one even for me as far as Sybil's concerned. Not sure if it belongs in medical or grooming, but, anyway, here's the scoop:

Friday night Sybil got bored and went on a snacking spree. She ate, among other things, a tub of vaseline. I figured there were worse things and at least it would lubricate the way for whatever other illegals she consumed, like quik stop Rolling Eyes, some conditioner and who knows what else.

Here's the thing. All went through just fine. BUT when she, eh, disposed of the vaseline on the other end the area around her anus got greasy. I mean visibly greasy! No poop in evidence. It looks like she sat in the vaseline. Just right around the poop chute dontcha know.

I bathed her butt and her whites tonight, but the shampoo didn't cut the grease. She still feels greasy and has this obvious grease spot on her butt. I'm entered in agility tomorrow and I can just see some less than reproductively savvy person thinking her butt looks "wet", not realizing what's what anatomically, and accusing me of running a bitch in season and....

Know I'm not leaving you guys much time but anyone have a quick fix degreasing ideas?

Never a dull moment! Rolling Eyes

And, Kerry: like I told you, I CAN'T make this stuff up!!!! Laughing Laughing Laughing

Thanks!
Kristine
I would cornstarch it and spot wash. Oh and I would use Dawn to rewash with.

Good luck!

PS It is always amusing what they find so tasty they have to have it! Mine goes for the hair dye! Shocked
Oh, good ideas.

I tried Ivory, no dice. I have Dawn too, and cornstarch, never thought of that. I'll give it a whirl and let you know.

Oink! Oink!

Wow Shocked I was going to suggest Dawn as well......

Well, the time table will be a bit tight, but maybe she can meet me in Fond Du Lac...

(Sorry, couldn't resist I'm outta here! Laughing Laughing Laughing )

Kristine
Well wonders never cease Shocked That's a first too with the ol vaseline butt Laughing Laughing Laughing

Definately cornstarch might need a few goes to degrease her Wink Rolling Eyes

That or Potato flour should remove ol grease butt Confused Laughing Laughing

Hey maybe you should leave it greasy for agility, she can always sit down and slide real fast down the ramp with lightening lubricated spead. Cool Laughing

Excellent. Lisa.

And now if you could all please come up with a good procedure for removing wood splinters from same area. Foster dog ate a wooden spoon while I was typing Rolling Eyes

It's been a long week for all of us.

Off to zzzz. Hope the dogs decide to do the same!!!

very funny, BUT
I would suggest Dawn as well!

if it can degrease my dishes and all those ducks and penguins from the oil spills it should help poor Sybil...er, poor Kristine!
Oh boy. I hope she isn't too lubed up for jumps...
No. I dont believe you could make THAT one up Kristine. Laughing
Hope the cornstarch etc. worked. My fingers are crossed

On second thoughts, maybe I'm hoping it didnt. I want to hear the explanation you'd come up with if you were accused of running a bitch in season.

Tiggy ate DH hand held bike pump last night. Shocked DH wont be happy when he finds out. Twisted Evil

Then again he's away for another week with work, maybe I can replace it with one the same and he'll never know. Let Me Think About That
I know it's late but one of our clients said that Dove soap is a grease cutter. They recommend that @ the emergency clinics in our area if they've over dosed the Frontline or Advantix.

I hope everything works/worked out ok! My fingers are crossed
Use dawn dish washing detergent with baking soda mixed in until its just short of paste. Its the combo we used to use to get mohawks and such out. Just don't scrub in that area. Yikes!
Oh Krisitne...your house is really sounding all too familiar!! Embarassed

Wooden spoons are a thing of the past...
Finn, not too long ago ate a tube of Cowboy Magic!
I don't believe we have a brush or comb without teeth marks!
What is up with grooming tools????

Hope Sybil has a grease free bum today! Laughing
Laughing Laughing Laughing My friends Sheepie helped herself to a tub of coconut oil cream. We had to figure out how to degrease a face and butt. Dawn is great for removing the gunk.

Three days their dog yard smelled like pool side at a tropical destination. Cool

That's not such a bad thought! Wink
Shocked

You are either going to have to tether her to you or crate her ...... she just keeps getting more and more creative with her mischief. I would love to know what the rest of the pack thinks of her. Probably stuff like "and we thought she couldn't get any more disgusting" or "we can do anything we want after that stunt". Laughing

Just to save time you might want to send the Dawn down through the front end as well. Wink

How did miss Jiffy Lube do at the agility trial?

Good question. If she did well does that mean you'll feed her a tub of vaseline before every trial. Laughing

well, unless she has developed opposable thumbs - there is another option Twitchy I'm outta here!

Everybody's a comedian Rolling Eyes Cool

I did a spot wash with the Dawn followed by cornstarch (sorry, Mandy - didn't get your paste idea till after) and it IMPROVED the situation, but didn't completely degrease her, so I'm printing this thread out to make sure I cover all bases next time and I do suspect there will be a next time. Rolling Eyes

Coconut oil... Let Me Think About That I think she'd really like that one. And, yes, I too wonder what the others think. Probably figure she makes the rest of them look good. Wink

And, yeah, Kerry - I could have made sure the stuff was out of reach. I was getting lax because she'd been really good the past few months.

I too have teeth marks on all grooming tools purchased prior to the past few months. Sunny and Marnie and I all mark our brushes and such since we groom together at shows and are constantly picking up each other's stuff. Each of us have our own "trademark". Marie draws a little mask, Sunny draws a little sun. And if it has teeth marks, it's mine Rolling Eyes Laughing Laughing

Kristine
lemon is a natural degreaser. you could try some lemon juice, dont let them in the sun with it though as its photosensative and watch the bum area (ever got lemon in a cut?) then shampoo out but dont put water on first as its just going to make a barrier as the oil and water dont mix
