Neutered male in UT looking for a family - found on KSL

Found an ad for a free male OES on KSL. Thought I would post about it in case anyone was looking. It appears that he is taken care of - below is ad.

"Artemis is a three-year old pure-breed Old English Sheepdog. He loves children, does not bite, is housebroken---a wonderful dog. Our family is grown and his companion dog was killed this year in an accident. He is so lonely. We are looking for a good family with children and a fenced yard for him to romp. He has been nuetered, some shots are due. He prefers to be near people. He loves to go on walks and visits with everyone who will let him."

Not sure if anything else can be posted here & don't want to get in trouble. :D Perhaps he is related to some of the other UT sheepies???

They should contact the breeder. Many contracts state that they will take the dog back and rehome it.
I spoke with the woman yesterday. She had no idea that breed rescures existed. But it seemed her interest wasn't really in the best home for Arti, just the fastest. She let his vacinations lapse earlier this month, as they knew he would be leaving and she didn't want to invest more money. They are going out of town this weekend and without current vacinations she can't board Arti. So she wanted to find a home that would take him before they left town on Friday.

What is KSL?
:( That makes me upset - 'he's a great member of the family but we need to get rid of him and give him to any old person b/c he is an inconvenience.' I will never understand how people can do that!!!
Just yesterday a friend bought a basset hound puppy in a Walmart parking lot *ugh* I guess the 'breeder' had 6 4 month old puppies in a med. crate and was taking $100 or best offer for pups with AKC papers. The puppy my friend bought for $75 was filthy, has a huge worm infestation and *surprise* wasn't sure what to make of the attention/loving he received at her house. I'm glad she called me to meet him as she didn't know that he had worms and she runs a small daycare in her house. I went to the Walmart looking for the puppy sellers to 'educate' them but they were long gone. Now there are 6 puppies out there potentially all sick and able to spread the worms to whatever unsuspecting families bought them.

KSL is a source to list free classified ads in Utah and Idaho. While they are convenient, you run into a ton of bybs and some scams. I frequently check them out to make sure none of my puppies from past litters are being shuffled around (just a bit protective). I also occasionally post but obviously you have to screen even more diligently since you can't be sure people aren't calling you on a whim.
We live in sth BC, Canada, and I saw the initial blog placed on oes.org and emailed the lady immediately but alas got no reply. We have a cheeky 16mnth old called Winston and are looking for someone to keep him company. He is our life and I just cant imagine anyone abandoning their dog/pet no matter what the circumstance!!!!!
I just hope this story has a good ending.
