VOMITING AFTER EATING ICE CUBES/BITS OF ICE

LUCY (OES) IS 5 YEARS OLD AND ENJOYS ICE CUBES BUT I HAVE NOTICED THIS PAST YEAR SHE HAS BEEN THROWING UP AFTER HAVING ONE. I ALSO HAVE A SHELTIE THAT IS 6 AND THEY BOTH ENJOY ICE AND THEY COME RUNNING WHEN THE HEAR THE ICE MAKER. IT'S REALLY ONLY BEEN THIS PAST SUMMER THAT I HAVE NOTICED THIS. AT FIRST I DIDNT KNOW WHAT WAS CAUSING IT AND THEN REALIZED THAT IT WAS THE ICE. I THEN WOULD JUST GIVE HER A PIECE OF ONE AND SHE WOULD STILL THROW UP AND THERE WOULD BE ABOUT 5 PIECES OF KIBBLE ALONG WITH IT. I FIND THIS TO BE VERY STRANGE AND THEN I READ A FEW POST WHERE IT HAS BEEN A PROBLEM WITH A FEW OTHER OES'S. NO ONE HAS REALLY EXPLAINED WHY THIS WOULD HAPPEN JUST THAT THEY HAVE EXPERIENCED IT TOO. MY SHELTIE HAS NEVER HAD A PROBLEM AND IT'S NOT JUST BEEN AFTER COMING IN FROM THE HEAT. SHE CAN BE LAYING AROUND IN THE COOL AIR CONDITONED HOUSE AND STILL HAVE A PIECE OF ICE AND VOMIT. WHY WOULD THIS HAPPEN? DOES ANYONE HAVE AN EXPLAINATION? IT'S LIKE A TASTY TREAT FOR THEM, NO CALORIES AND CHEAP. I FEEL BAD THAT THE SHELTIE CAN EAT THEM AND I CANT GIVE ONE TO LUCY.

My Bailey vomits after eating ice or if we try giving her cold canned food.
This summer, she had an episode of diarrhea that resulted in the vet putting her on Purina AD for a week. We were supposed to give her small amounts, frequently during the day. So I put the can in the frig.
I learned quickly to mix a small amount of water with the food and warm it up to room temperature.

My son's cat is the smae way.
Yeah, it happens. It came on Clyde the same way. He was fine for years, loved eating ice and then it started becoming to much for him and he'd puke immediately. It sucks because it was good treat for him.
When George was a puppy it used to make him pee. :?
I know it is disappointing, but this is completely normal for some sheepiepalooza. Sorry. :(
