Hello, I'm Tamara

Hello, everyone, my name is Tamara, and my dog's name is Flash.
I entered this forum to check if my dog is a true OES or not. I'll tell you his story, he was found abandoned tied next to a constructios site, he was very skinny, had nothing but fleas, ticks and mats on his hair, and a sever case of desnutrition.
A recuer took him and shaved him, after a few visits to the vet, they said he was barely 6 months old, and would probably not grow up as he should, since his nutrition was so bad.
I had decided to adopt a dog, and was hoping to get a Border Collie or a Golden Retreiver. Then I saw a photo of Flash and fell in love right away, even though I have never seen his hair long. I will pos a few pics of him so you guys can tell me if he is an OES or not (either case, he's the most adorable intelligent dog)
Greetings!

Hi Tamara and welcome from Nova Scotia Canada!!!!

If that is you and him.. he sure looks like a sheepie to me... with a tail.. He is very cute and happy looking.

Thank you for saving him, you will have many enjoyable years with your Sheepie, they are awesome!!!
Yes!! that's Flash!!!.
He has a long tail indeed. We believe he was quite neglected by his former owners that they never cut his tail, though i love it!
Well, let's see what other members have to say. I got at least one good opinion. Ill try to take and post more pics!
Yes, very much an OES, only without the docked tail. Boy, he sure is handsome!
Lucky sheepdog Flash! Yes, he's a sheepdog. If you look at some of the pictures of our members' dogs from down under in Oz, you'll see some pretty fluffy tails on those sheepdogs.

Since he's been neglected, you have to train him early to accept being brushed, rught now, hands only, then soft brush so by the time the hair needs tending in about 10 weeks, he'll be begging you for some extra attention. Many members have their grooming station in front of the TV so groomer and dog can watch TV together during the process.

Welcome to you and Flash!
Oh he's simply gorgeous!!! welcome and just to let you know ...there are a few of us here with tailed OES.... can't wait to hear more about your boy and see lots of pics too.
Oh my is he cute!
Welcome Tamara and Flash, G'day from Australia. :D

We have tails on our OES now due to docking ban and your flash is certainly all OES. Get him use to brushing now start while the coat is clipped so by the time you get some fluffiness back he is liking the grooming session. Start by teaching him to lie on his side, brush that side then flip over to do the otherside. :D

Here is a tail on one of mine. :D

Welcome Tamara and your sweet Flash.
Welcome to you and Flash! I love the name, our very first OES was Flash :)
Welcome Tamara and Flash!!! Sweet looking boy...must say do not envy the tail...lol...been there, done that...just don't keep anything priceless on your coffee table! Can anyone say BATTER UP?! lol

Welcome from West Germany
Welcome from Tennessee! Flash is a good looking little man! :D
Welcome! What a sweet little boy :aww: he is so lucky to have found you.

Another tailed sheepie here, you can see photos of him if you click my camera icon. There are some pics of him shaved down like Flash (but with a furry tail) so you can see just how clear it is that he's definitely an OES too :D
Welcome from Alaska, Tamara and Flash! :D

Flash is a cutie, and I love the name...with his small, lean build, I bet he lives up to it! :sidestep:

He actually looks a lot like my boy, Eggbert, who, although he' never had a neglected day in his life, is quite "petite".
