September in Colorado

Well I have to say that it is suppose to warm up this weekend to the 60's. But we have already had 9 inches of snow in Evergreen. Highs have been in the low 40's with lows in the upper 20's since Monday.

9" OF SNOW???? And it's not even October yet! Yuk, yuk, yukky, yuk!!
Snow piccys please it's a novelty here in OZ to see. Evergreen Colorado sounds like a lovely place does it stay that way "Evergreen"?

Spring is here and finally rain is pouring so hoping for heaps more before summer to help us all here with water restrictions after 10 years of drought. Daffodills are out, wattle is out and so is my hayfever LOL.

SNOW???
It was almost 90 here today!
Hot and muggy!
Share that snow....
Oh--I would love it there! I am one of those crazy people that loves winter! And we haven't had snow here in 5 years!
Way, way back in 1971, I flew to Denver on Sept. 13th to attend a Micro Wave Measurment school at Lowery AFB. My wife and I took along our 160 lb. Saint Bernard (Barney). Believe it or not on the 17th we had more than 15 inches of snow right in Denver! Barney was in heaven, I walked him along the perimeter of Stapleton Airport and he loved it. The amazing thing was almost all of the snow was GONE within 5 or 6 days. As I recall it got quite cold for those few days also. I always remember the instructors comment that even with the cold and snow out there he was always able to have enough good weather to play golf every month of the year!
Yep, it common, especially where Shon is........it will melt off but cool the ground so future snows tend to stick better.

When DH and I got married Sept 27 it was a beautiful balmy day.....returned 10 days later to find Denver buried under nearly 2 feet snow. That was.....40 years ago this Sunday 8O Oh great, now I've got to get an anniversary card...........
Back East when we get a good snowstorm we can usually figure on seeing it still around for a few weeks. Usually we need a good rain to get rid of most of it. As I recall on the day we flew out in 1971 when we stepped off the plane it was, at that time the HOTTEST Sept. 13th on record. Colorado is certainly a beautiful place. Gotta envy Shon and Obie. Mrs. Baileesdad and I did a lot of sightseeing back then. Took good old Barney Bernard along everywhere we went. We even took him to a Drive In Movie one night.
