They got loose!

Well my first mishap with the invisible fencing. I love it and they do because they just zoom around the yard. Well yesterday they zoomed into the neighbours yard onto their dock. When I got to them Langley was sitting nicely in their boat. I had a hard time not laughing it was very cute. BAD! have to keep a better eye on them for awhile now. I am always in the yard but I was further up and didn't see that happen

Oh how funny! Langley obviously wanted to go sailing. How did they manage to get through? Just by charging right through or something?
Glad it all turned out ok... those fences scare the heck out of me.... glad you don't live in a busy area too!
Ours both got out once - Marley is so paranoid she actually ran back through to make sure she was in the yard
No I am not in a busy area that is for sure, soon all my neighbours will be gone and just me. I have been watching them like a hawk and when they get close to the boarder I yell out lets go and they turn back. But I was further up the yard and they were racing around and just probably raced right through with there crazy chasing. I will never just toss them out in the yard and not be there it is for them to run and chase and Langley to play fetch. He is so good at it only sucks when Laika decides to take the ball. She doesn't play nice.

Langley is going to try out flyball classes soon.
We live in very rural area, way in the country and never needed a fence.
Jake(Collie)Toby(OES)Auggie( scottie) All stayed in the yard.
Jake got old and died at 13 Tobby died(we wont go there,to hard) Auggie is left
But we got two Anitiolin Sheperds and we had to put the same kind of fence you have up THEY ROAM!! but Have no idea why we bothered they go right through it.
I use to trian dogs in the military and I cant train these two to stay on our property. Never had a problem with a dog ever until these two lol.
So good luck...............I am still trying to find a way to stop our two from roaming. :|
well it is guaranteed so if this keeps up I will return it. But that was the first time and they are new to it.
We have the same fencing. Our dog trainer said that if they go through the fence line, chances are that the collar is to loose.
Due to the fact of all the hair it must be on very tight and make sure that the prongs are making contact to the neck.

Just a thought.

It requires training, my guys go no where near where they even expect to hear the beep yet. You also have to make sure the batteries are working - I usually take a collar and walk near the fence to see if I hear a beep.

Some dogs need the shock level turned up - I know they said Newfs need it on high - we haven't tried it on B yet though
nope they fit........the dogs are just demons
Anatolians, Great Pyrs.....the live stock guardians are bred to roam...it's their job to keep predators away from the livestock. And they do this on their own, they do not require human commands. In fact it is hard to train them.......they will follow a command only if they deem it necessary and forget about repetitive training. They figure they did it once, why do it twice.

So training LGDs is like spitting into the wind....sometimes you can do it and then suddenly it all comes back into your face.

Due to their size, independent nature and generally their abiltiy to ignore or reduce pain........they are not suited to invisible fences.
yup that fits these guys to a tee!!!
