A whole summers post ( it's long, sorry)

So it's been a while, all summer to be exact, sorry. I have a lot of pictures to post so don't be too upset. Lets just say a new yard, machinery, broken down machinery, lots of hand work, rocks dirt, mud, my job in general, started back to school (doing well), taking care of Obe (still in full coat).

Speaking of Obe, he stayed clean the entire time, no joke. Just spread an assortment of wild flowers seeds (lower yard) and grass seed (upper yard), so watering like crazy, which equals mud. When the sprinkler is on Obe lays on the porch, deck, or another part of the yard. Wants no part of it. As for the mud, he walks beside it not to get dirty, quite funny and I love it.

Lots of pics of the landscaping project which was done by us. Still not 100% finished, but we have spread some wild flower seeds as well as grass seed. A flagstone patio was laid, down will be finished soon. Just got some more stone this week. Put in a drain across the lower drive so no skating rink in the winter. We are planning on planting a row of aspen across the front of the yard. Tara wanted a flower garden so it was designed as well. Too late this season to really plant anything as temps are dropping here, excitement starting to build, ski season coming.

I guess I should say that Tara and Colin (live upstairs, landlord/roommates) are expecting a baby this March. Tara has already said she wants Obe and the baby in pics. Colin mentioned that he wants to get Tara a dog after the baby is born and things settle some. Yes, he said an OES. So I have been told it will be uncle Shon and cousin Obe.

I bought new TV, 46' Samsung, a PS3, and an entertainment stand. School is going great, i have an A average. I justified buying the TV by telling myself that I cannot look at the computer screen, to small, (17" laptop screen) to do school work I need something bigger, 46" Samsung fit the bill quite well. The PS3 I had to have, so I can watch blu-ray movies on.

Well I could type some more but I have things to do. I will upload the pics soon they are not even downloaded to my computer yet. Hope everyone is well and will post soon. Sorry for the absence, just a lot going on.

Glad to hear from you and glad everything is going well with study and all!! :clappurple:
There is a whole post here somewhere wondering where you got to.
Obe is such a good boy. I wish Tiggy would keep out of the mud. :D
Shon it was good to hear from you. It sounds like you've had an exciting Summer. Will be looking forward to seeing your pics. Good luck in school.
Yaaaay! It's wonderful to have you back!!!

I like it that you have been so busy and are getting great grades, even though we have missed you- at least you have been away for a good reason! :D

Wow your garden renovation sounds very exciting, can't wait to see the pics including Obe still in full coat. You know you can be forgiven anything here as long as you post lots of pics  What a good boy he has been, give him squidges from us.

:cheer:
Glad to hear y'all are doing o.k. I can't believe a dog would walk around mud--most would roll in it ASAP! Obe wants to keep his papa happy I guess. Would love to see pics of the garden (and Obe, of course).

Good to hear from you!
Keep up the good grades. I too am looking forward to pics and the garden. Also new baby when it comes.
Keep up the good work.
Welcome back, Shon! Glad to hear things are going so well, albeit busy. You never mentioned the landlords/roommates before. Did you move?
Welcome back! We've missed you and Obe-antics. Obe the Terror of Lake Evergreen.

As for flower garden.....hope you didn't have all rock underneath! BTW, you can be planting perennials and spring bulbs now. The perennials would need a good winter mulch. Granted tulips are a bit too non-native looking, but muscari, snowdrops and crocus fit well in mtn. landscape.

My very first mtn. garden in Dillon I planted in tulips...and nearly killing my back from the rocks... When they came up the following spring my brand new OES pup ate them, munch, munch. I got to enjoy the flowers about 30 seconds.
No I didn't move. Colin and I have been friends for 10 years. He has owned the house for 8-9 years. I lived in the upstairs and he lived downstairs where I do now. Then Colin and Tara started dating. Tara moved into the upstairs and was my roommate for about 3 years. They got married and moved into the upstairs and I moved down. I pretty much have lived in the same house with the same people since I moved to Colorado.

As for the planting just dont have the time and neither do they. Besides it's not ready to be planted still some work.
I sent Dawn after you on Facebook Shon...I was worrying about you too.
great to hear you are doing well post some pics i am sure when winter comes we will see a lot more of u 8)
Wow, you really have been busy 8O

Good luck with all the projects. Great to hear you are back in school as well. :D

get those pictures downloaded before snow falls, please 8) ...otherwise we may never see them!!
OMG! You've made my day! We were so worried about you! I'm glad all is well.

Somehow, you've become our "son"....and we are all delighted you and OBE are well and happy...and CLEAN!!!
See, we've been worried about you!

Had to get rid of that lady. She was WAY too much drama. Lets just say she got into some trouble and I wanted no part of being around her.
