OES.org and show OES calendars

I am ready to start asking for orders. I am a little up in the air as to mailing costs, as I know what it will be for one...but more may need to be on a zip code basis. The calendars wil be $22.00 each + shipping. One calendar will be between $2-$3 for any zip code. (US only) I will send to other countries, but shipping will be to be determined.

I will be making a donation per calendar to the Carolina's Old English Sheepdog rescue in North Carolina. They seem to be most in need at this time as a smaller rescue.

Please pm me with your address and email if you would like a calendar. I will be printing them after I have collected all monies and hope to be shipping them within the first few weeks of October. The originals are for sale as well for the price of the calendar, but I will not announce whose dogs are in. I hope to be able to do this again earlier next year and have more time to do even more dogs.

Here are the covers:

What?? 8O The butt bunny jumping the hurdle didn't make the back cover??

Still lovely! I'll be counting up oders soon!
They are two seperate calendars...sorry, forgot to mention that. Both will generate rescue donations however...as will the originals.
I will be ordering too! I plan on getting one of each for myself, as well as a few for gifts.
Any way of seeing all the pictures in both calendars? For purchasing originals, that is...as well as deciding which to give to others.
Wendy, I will be ordering both calendars, please.

Wait until Matisse finds out he made the cover. WOW!! I love the covers on both of them. I can't wait to see the portraits inside. I can ONLY imagine. You have definitely outdone yourself.

Kudos to you for helping OES rescue, too. You are awesome!! :cheer: :cheer:

Please clarify, is this a Rescue fundraiser or a personal fund raiser for your own dog?
This is a rescue fundraiser. Unfortunately, I will need surgery for my dog as well. Anything I make after the rescue donation will be put aside for my dog.
I have already made 2 donations to Carolina's OES rescue so far.
I did not realize your dog was a rescue, I thought it was from a breeder?

It is certainly your right to sell calenders and use the money as you see fit but I think you need to clearly represent who is benefitting. I personally would be offended if I purchased a calender thinking I was benefitting a rescue and found the money actually used to benefit the seller, regardless of what you were using the money for.
I do believe she never said all of the profit was going to rescue - just some portion.
I have never said ALL the money was benefitting rescue. I did say 10% of my profits are going to rescue. You are obviously hiding under the name of guest because you have another agenda. If you don't want a calendar, don't buy one.

I never asked for a fund raiser for my "re-homed" dog. You are definately misguided.
Not trying to undermine anyones efforts, simply asking for clarification.

To clarify a point, the work that Wendy put into this calendar is very admirable, she has created a calendar that up until now did not exist and has made a terrific job. After creating this calendar she deserves to make some money for her work.

ditto
Sorry, I did not see this until just now....
Wendy has sent two donations to
Carolinas OES Rescue...
I actually mentioned that she should use the remaining
sales for her Bella(her baby)
She said "NO" ....

If you have any further questions, please feel free to ask me.

Kathy
www.coesr.org
Untwist your panties ladies, I was simply asking a question, no where did I say that she was not entitled to make a profit.

It was a simple question, "where do the proceeds go". No criticism implied or stated, no "agenda".

Or are questions not allowed on this forum, if that is the case forgive me.
It was a legitimate question, it may have been harshly put.

Personally I never like it when someone says a " a portion of the profits will got to x, y or z" I'd rather know up front the dollar amount, but I work in a cynical business
And personally I'm getting a little tired of people who post as "guest" but who don't see fit to sign their names no matter what their agenda, or "non-agenda" Sybil's a troll too. But at least she signs her name, and proudly at that

Love the calendar, Wendy. Thank you.

Kristine
The honorable thing to do would have been to handle this privately with
Wendy rather than posting publicly and questioning her honesty. tsk tsk
Wendy, please don't let things like this dissuade you from helping
rescues in the future.

Really. Guest posts allow people to say things they wouldn't otherwise say if
people could identify them.

Doesn't Ron get the IP address of everyone who posts? This is a cool sight I
think Ron?? had shared with me a few years ago http://www.maxmind.com/app/lookup_city .
Type in your own IP address and see what comes up
I was wondering how this "guest" knew Wendy got her
dog from a breeder BUT, didn't know dairymaid is not a
lady????

Honestly, who cares where she came from, she is loved!
I agree it would have been best to have handled the question through a private post to gain clarification.

I'm not so sure on the guest post thing. I think if its something that you are embarrassed to put your name to, then its probably something that's better off not said.

Sweet - of course those of us on here from work get glommed with anyone else (like yeah) who would be logged on from the same work site.
Yeah, that's true. Do many OES forum people work from the same IP
address? I'd be speaking up and saying, "It's not me!!!"

It is pretty cool because it shows the area code, city, state, etc.... it really
narrows down who might purposely be causing trouble. I imagine it's gotten
people kicked off message boards in the past...
So how do I know what my own IP address is?

(I don't feel stupid at all, nope. nada. zilch    )

Me either.
I think DH told me where to look it up once. :lmt:

 No its stored in the bit of my brain that deals with stuff that is either too hard, too boring or both. Therefore completely unaccessable. :D
You can Google "IP address locator" or "what's my IP address".
Here's a site that will give you yours...
http://whatismyipaddress.com

You can then search it with this site-
http://www.maxmind.com/app/lookup_city
Actually with the link she originally gave us, there's a little link right above it that says something about an ip address example or something I can't recall w/o clicking on it again. Clicking THAT gives your IP too.

Yeeeeah... that would have been much easier!
I'll delete my post, you delete yours, then I'll delete mine so I don't look so dumb.

Thanks Jaci....I could almost see my house on the map! :P

That was VERY accurate...

I know the exact spot! The only thing accessible in that part of my brain is the phone number of a friend in MI who is retired from IBM. Before I tortured him with stupid tech questions, my brother was the natural victim. When we were both in grad school and they had a programming projects he would offer me up to do his project group's final beta testing, because if somebody could jam up an otherwise perfectly good program, t'was me. I suspect my stupid questions probably made the rounds in later years after he joined Microsoft where I imagine I won him a "Most Technologically Stupid Relative" award at least 5-6 times a year. The term Luddite was liberally bandied about.

I make no apologies. If it doesn't bark, why do I need to know how it works? :cow:

Good question!! And the most important question.........if it doesnt work then who the hell is going to fix it for me?
HEHEHEHE
you two remind me of my son when it comes to cars "I know how to fix that, I call AAA"
Well, according to this (both methods work, btw  ) I am at a hotel about 20 some miles and one county away 8O

See! I knew I'd break it! :sidestep:

It does show the name of our service provider too, though.

Weird, but interesting. Thanks!

KB
I tried it too. I'm one suburb away, smack bang in the centre of the CBD. Its a good map of Melbourne though.

Kristine
OK, I'll ask the next dork question...
How do you get a map?

I did the lookup and got all the info - IP, provider, city name, zip code, etc........but no map
Quote:
OK, I'll ask the next dork question

hehehe Scootch over... we can be dorks together :D

I think this one has a map...
http://whatismyipaddress.com

For my IP address, the text indicates the correct city but the pushpin's point is on the other side of the bay.
I looked up my address then went back to the first site posted and it only had me about a 2 hour drive away from where I am

mine is way off too. It shows me in a field outside a subdivision on the south side of town (not even a road near it  )

In reality I'm at my client's home (their wireless) on the north west side of town. Off by MANY miles!!
Back to the original post from the "guest"
that knows enough to post specifics...

I don't know what your intentions were but,
if it was to hurt my feelings you did.
(hoping that was not it)
I will not speak for Wendy...she is doing a nice thing!

Wendy made a very nice gesture in offering to donate to
a very small group that helps alot of dogs.
(I say group being Marty and I)

You can look at our website and see some of the dogs she is helping
right now!
www.coesr.org

I don't say much and do not typically ask for help she volunteered.

Honestly, even if she wasn't supporting any rescue I would have bought
a calander.
They are gorgeous and all the hard work she put into them is well worth
a small 22 dollars!
(at the store a picture, impersonal one is 15!!)

I would personally donate to Bella having eye surgery but, Wendy doesn't want that...
She shares her story of her baby with her forum family like we all do!

I could go on and on BUT, I just want to put across the point the money she said was going to recue...did go to rescue.

As I said before...if anybody has any question of that please feel free to contact me!

Kathy

Dear Guest,

your original question should never have been posted as a guest and the implications never made, in the forum everybody is willing to help each other which is not always so in the big wide world, in future when you have such questions, ask them privately or even better not at all.

Wendy has donated a part of the money to an OES rescue which is very honorable and because I try and help the rescue in Scotland she also donated a lovely prize for their next tombola, this lady has her heart in the right place.

Oh and as already pointed out I am not a Lady and I certainly do not get my nickers in a twist at people like you who are too cowardly to post their name. In future please think before posting.

I just have to say it...
Bit my tongue all day...
I am going off to watch Wizard of Oz...
Wanna see exacly how the Cowardly Lion ends up! 8)

Call me a goof but, I have no idea how somebody could
discredit a wonderful effort!!!!

Thanks again Wendy! :ghug:
I don't think we need to go on about this any longer. The answer to the underlying question is that 10% of the net proceeds is going to rescue.
I am still taking orders. For those of you that want calendars for Christmas gifts, please make sure you give enough time for mailing.

Anyone who wants 5 or more calendars will get a discount price of $20.00 per calendar. I need a weeks notice before shipping time.

Even at the reduced rate I will be donating 10% of my profits to rescue.
Now is also a good time to get in any portrait orders for Christmas.

Thanks again guys!!!!!
Woo Hoo! I received my Oes.org calendar today. IT IS GREAT!!!! Thank you so much Wendy for all of your time and effort. I can hardly wait to hang it.

I was excited to see that I had met two of the Calendar "Pin Ups" in person at the same party!!!! I should have gotten their "paw signature then."

Thank you again Wendy for a great calendar!

The Cowardly Lion gets courage at the end and winds up being the rightful King of the Forest.
I am still selling calendars for those who are interested. If you want one in January they will be available thru March. I am reducing the price to $20.00 but the same rescue donation will apply.

February I will start looking for the next batch of photos to draw from. I know I have seen some great ones this year. Don't forget photos of your furkids at the bridge too.

Thanks. :D
