Abracadabra
She had turned 12 this past April and was slowing down. Our walks had become ambles, but she still had her appetite and joy for car rides. Just 2 weeks ago, she was my 13 month old grand daughter's high chair buddy!! Last week she was panting more, then seemed to be struggling with her breathing. By Thursday evening she did not want to eat or drink, but she seemed more comfortable. When she still refused anything I fixed her, I took her to the emergency vet. After xrays, ultrasound, some labs,found. she had fluid in her abdomen and lungs were starting to fill too. I knew rationally that she was very ill, and my heart did not want to put her through anything invasive, so, she made her way over the bridge. My emotions are still very close to the surface. I can't verbally talk about her yet without tearing. I did put some pictures up if you want to see her sweet beautiful face.  Abracadabra

Cindy, we were all hopeful that Abracadabra would be okay. I'm so sorry that she didn't pull through and my heart goes out to you on your loss. Most of us have gone through it and know how you are hurting.

| I am so sorry that you had to put her down. You did the right thing. She is happy, pain free and running with all of our other OES that have crossed. Bless you for doing what was right for her. |

She was magical as her name implied. I was looking through your pictures and saw the sweetness in her eyes and smile. I know how much this loss means to you, and although you did what you needed to do for her, your heart is breaking. We have all been there, lean on us if you need..for surely, there will come a time when we must make the unselfish and final loving act as you did and will need your support. Prayers and thoughts with you........ |

| I am so sorry you have lost your baby, most of us know the hurt you are going through, it tears at your heart and you think you will never get through it. Try to think only of the good times and how much love she gave you in her life and how you loved her so much you couldn't let her suffer. She is free now as she was years ago a beautiful girl in the prime of life playing over the Bridge with all our angels. xxxx |
