Hi Tanya,
I finally found a couple of minutes to get back to you.
It's been pretty crazy here. Hayley has had major gas problems and hasn't been sleeping too well. We just switched her to a Lactos Free formula (the third formula she has been on so far) and she seems so much better and it's only the second day on it. She slept peacefully last night instead of moaning and whining with gas pains. I think I actually slept for 3 1/2 hrs at a time between feedings.
I was running on no sleep and just so beat. I would try to lie down while Hayley was napping during the day, but she would only sleep for about 1 1/2 to 2 hrs and by the time I would fall asleep I would get about a 20 minute nap if that.
Daddy's been doing just fine. He sleeps through every cry at night....So typical. He does feed her in the evenings and spends time with her.
He is crazy about her. He asked me to buy him one of those carriers so He can strap her one and take her to Home Depot on the weekends.
Ryan is just a wonderful big brother.... I am kind of shocked about it, but so far he adores her. He is constantly checking on her to see if she's ok...
If she is uncovered he will put a blanket on her. He tells me how beautiful she is. Also that he can't wait for her to start walking because then they could play together. He said he is going to teach her all about everything  That's what I am afraid of...lol
He wants to show her Disneyland... take her here and there.
Speaking of that.... I am bringing Hayley in for show and tell at Ryan's school next week.
Also Pepsi and Harley are wonderful with her.
Harley is a more protective than Pepsi. Harley actually nipped my mother.
oops... At night he sleeps right in front of her bassinet. Pepsi insists on getting up for every feeding and follows us threw the house and seems to be babysitting us until the final diaper change before bed. Then he sleeps a couple of feet from Hayley's bassinet towards the bedroom door. Pepsi also insists on directing traffic in our hallway....only when I am holding Hayley. He gives us a sheepie escort wherever we go... He leads the way and also walks slowly to make sure I walk slowly..or just to annoy me. When we first came home both dogs barked at me when I was burping Hayley... Like I was trying to hurt her or something. They have gotten used to it now.
Well she is going to be up any minute so I better end this.
Thanks for thinking of me :D :D
Elissa
Great to hear from you Elissa!
Those sleepless nights are something I don't miss! LOL
Babies are so cute though....
I'm glad to hear your son and furkids are so enamoured with her, that is so sweet that they are so protective.
It won't be too long before you start to be able to get a little more sleep...
:)
Elissa, your home sounds delightly busy!!hehe!!yes newborns are just so damanding,my son when he was a newborn he had alot of gas issues, have you tried any over the countergas meds for babies? If I can remember I think mylanta makes a gas med for newborns and it works great, just a couple of drops of it right in the bottle and your baby will be passing the trapped gas.Feeling better in no time.Arent hubbies just so helpful in the middle of the night?I swear if the midnight feedings were left up to the hubbies the humane population would have died out a LONG time ago!!LOL!!!I guess thats why we (women) are alot stronger, and can do ANYTHING on No sleep!!
The furbabies sound like they are going to be watching over the little bundle for a long time, make sure you post pics when she starts crawling, because I bet the puppers follow her around wondering what in the world is this nonfur dog doing??hehe!!Priceless pics Im sure.Well please keep in touch drop me an email let me know how Ryan is doing and the sweet princess is growing.Make sure your taking care of yourself also, since you are the most important part of your family, mom falls the whole house crumbles!!LOL!!
Take care hun,and dont forget to send me pics. :D
Tanya,
I think you are right about Men....lol
Ok..not all, but most!
I tried Mylicon drops (the gas drops) before switching her formula.
That led the Dr to believe she is lactose intolerant, because they didn't help at all.
She still has some gas now, but nothing like before.
So for two nights now she has rested peacefully.
She would just cry and kick and would not sleep unless I was holding her.
I bet if I gave her the drops now she would have virtually no problems anymore.
The Cleaning woman is coming on Tuesday...Thank God. I have been trying to keep up with housework, but not being able to sleep has taken it's toll on me. I have managed to keep it somewhat decent since she was her 4 weeks ago....I even managed to keep up on Laundry for 4.
But the house does need a good cleaning.
Well Hayley just finished eating so I am going to lie down
Take Care
Elissa
AWWWWWWWWWW,poor baby!!Im lactose intalerant also, and it is an ichy feeling of all those cramps  ,and being so tiny new to the world it has to be really painful,Im glad she has such a good mommy to get to the bottom of her crying.Babies are such a blessing but boy do they ever stress us mommies out!!LOL!!Thats great you have a cleaning lady, you need to make sure to take care of yourself, and NO heavy lifting young lady!!
Do you celebrate Easter? If so I bet your going to have her in an adoreable easter dress, and of course I just know youll be sending me pics of her in it :D .
How old is she now?About a month?Well you post when you can and the rest of the time rest and try and pamper yourself when you have the time.
Best wishes sending your way!! :D
Tanya,
We will be celebrating Easter with My Husband's Family. My Sister in Law already bought her a dress to wear. Of course I will be taking tons of pictures. I will send some your way..
Hayley is a month old today!!!
She is up to 6 1/2 lbs now. She was 5 lbs 2 oz when she left the hospital.
So she has gained 1 lb in two weeks. 8O 8O My little porker is drinking 5 oz at each feeding.

Elissa,
Congratulations on your new baby! Babies are just wonderful. Enjoy these moments, you'll never get them back.

My daughter Molly was lactose intolerant with reflux. It will get better, I promise. We found that if she slept with a slight incline it made things better. In the bassinet we folded a bath towel and placed under the padding, then in her crib we put the slats toward her feet one notch lower. It made a huge difference. Remember necessity is the mother of all inventions.

Good luck!
Elissa,
So good to see you back! I understand about the sleepless nights - been there, done that! But look at that little bundle of joy and your heart melts! Sounds like she's growing well, so at least her lactose intolerance isn't effecting that.

Take your time to recuperate and enjoy this time!

Chris
Thanks Caullet and Chris,
Caullet I have this awesome sleep positioner to keep her on her back... It is a wedge and keeps her head elevated. I am wondering if a bigger incline would be better?
She has slept comfortably since I changed the formula. She is still pretty gassy though. I even tried the drops and they had no effect.
I am so tired...Days are blurring by. I have no idea what day it is..
My son came home from school the other day with a fever and I developed laryngitis (from what... I have no idea) and a cough. I just hope Hayley doesn't get sick.
Elissa
